First of all, I’d be more than happy to get them a negative number of stars if there’s a way to do so. I’m quite surprised that it has over four stars given my horrible service beginning from order to pick-up today.
I’ve been living in Hershey for more than a decade. It’s a friendly neighbor with many quality restaurants around providing excellent service in general. Yet, it’s quite unfortunate that I’m leaving this sort of negative review for this place. I hardly leave any review in general especially if it’s going to be negative.
Since I’m not a burger person, I’ve never visited this place ever before. But, today, to support my kid’s music band fundraising through this place, we’ve visited there for supporting both my kid and my kid’s music band.
We were all excited, but, here are multiple incidents that we experienced this evening at this place that shouldn’t have happened especially in this sort of business:
The young lady getting an order couldn’t even spell my name, Joseph, properly (see the picture attached: jjooessph????). I could see some orders could be confusing, however, who could go that wrong with such a simple name? In fact, I didn’t say a thing when she was typing totally wrong since I do understand that some people could have truly missed the proper education. The real problem was her total rudeness; she was not welcoming at all, her voice was condescending, pushing, forcing, and rather aggressive.
You’re supposed to wait until your name’s called for to-go (which is a quite generic process). We’ve been waiting for more than 30 min (it was Wednesday evening and business didn’t seem super busy), and multiple to-go items have been being stacked up on the counter to be picked up. Yet, no one called any name but they simply kept stacking them up. Even my colleague who arrived/ordered earlier had to approach them after a long wait to see if his food was ready. Eventually, we also had to approach the counter and find our order by ourselves. Obviously, it was there.
We found one drink was missing. So we asked them to get us a cup to go. Shockingly, the answer from the lady behind the pick-up counter was “We don’t have them!” with extremely rude manners. Yes, literally, she said “We don’t have them!” and she got back to her business. After asking her once again where to get one, she used her chin to point out the front desk and bakery across the hallway still with extremely impolite manners and tones with a few words. It was very embarrassing.
Finally, we picked up everything (we thought) in a big single plastic back with the order receipt attached. Again, we thought we got everything at first in a good faith, but, guess what; three fries were missing!!! We didn’t bother going back to get them since we’ve got fed up with them already.
It’s quite unfortunate and a huge shame that there’s such a horrible restaurant managing this badly in Hershey. My 5th grade kid noticed all these processes as well, and I was quite sad to say to him that I wouldn’t like to revisit this place. If you want to get a burger, this may not be your choice, but please go to elsewhere in Hershey downtown. There are much better quality service and food providing restaurants in the...
Read moreWhat a long day at Hershey Park, taking care of 3 kids from 8:30am to 9:30pm. Quick search on Yelp for restaurants opening this late, Fuddruckers came up and it immediately brought nostalgic vibes and cherished memories I had before it closed down in Columbia, Maryland. The 1 pounder along with the plethora of yummy and most importantly, fresh toppings like red hots, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, sweet peppers and banana peppers. Then they also had plenty of different sauces and my favorite drink, coke zero readily available. One of the kids has a severe wheat allergy, and Fudds has a gluten free bread that feels and tastes like real bread. Oh and then they butter it up so it's crispy on the inner side and soft and fluffy on the outside - you won't even notice a difference with the real bun...
In terms of overall customer service, Jeremy and Ken have exceeded my expectations in terms of friendliness, taking initiative, and overall service. Ken went out of his way to deliver the dishes that I couldn't hold myself, but not just that, he did it in a way where he was humble and didn't hesitate.
There's a difference between being a boss and being a leader. Now, I may not be around entirely, but my experience there showed his humility and humbleness - 2 amazing qualities that unfortunately, not many have these days. Both Jeremy and Ken are willing to listen and are good people.
I have zero complaints, just happiness; perfectly cooked burgers, plethora of fresh toppings, coke zero, amazing service, what's not to love????
Hershey Park was entirely for the kids; blisters on my left foot, 26k steps according to my watch, waiting while they had fun on the rides, spending hundreds on their enjoyment and energy consumption, holding their 15 toys, pushing a double stroller, and at times holding the youngest. I'm beat.
However, Fuddruckers was for all of us; great food, great service, regaining energy for the 2 hour drive back home, good memories, and a fantastic way to end the day.
I wish Fuddruckers still existed in Maryland.... All I know is that, every time I'm in the area, I'll be sure to always visit...
Read moreI ordered a Beyond Burger to go and noticing that like Red Robin, Fuddruckers offers bottomless fries and so I asked if I could get a few extra fries. The guy behind the counter told me they would hook me up. When I got to the pick up window to get the order, I didn’t get any extra fries so I asked again . The woman filling my order laughed at me and said “no, extra fries are, only for people who are dining in, otherwise will be giving Fries out all day”. I began to try to explain to her the fault in her logic: people who dine in probably ask for more than one extra order of the bottomless fries. Since I was taking the order to go, I would only be getting just a few extra fries. She laughed again and said no I m not giving you any more fries. Since I stand on principle, I said fine then I’ll eat here and I sat down the table finished my mediocre burger and the fries and then went back to her and asked for more fries. Her response was: are you going to eat them here? I said yeah sure. She gave them to me and I thanked her for her kindness as I dumped the fries into my to go bag and left. I’m still amazed at the pennywise - pound foolish mindset of this particular Fuddruckers. Even if most of their orders are to go, it still seems like a short sighted and poorly reasoned policy. And I didn’t appreciate being laughed at for asking. Needless to say I will not...
