There is a phrase I used to hear when watching British television, "playing at." As in "what are you playing at?" Fire and Grain fits this statement perfectly. It's playing at being a fine dining restaurant. Or, at least it's playing at being a higher-end restaurant. Except that, in reality, it's not. We went on a Thursday night to an almost empty restaurant. I got 'Shrimp and Crab Orichetti' which had absolutely no seasoning what so ever. I mean it didn't even have salt. It was essentially unsalted butter melted over pasta noodles with some shrimp and crab meat... and it was $32. My husband had "Gremelli Bolgnase" (forgive my spelling) that he said tasted exactly like the straight out of the jar spaghetti sauce we use at home (Midis) and they also put a crazy amount of plain, unsalted, unseasoned ricotta cheese on top of his spaghetti, which he had to scrape off to make it edible. And that was $28. I had a blackberry chipotle michelada which was good but not great. My husband had something (I forget) but it was pretty much just vodka.
Our drinks were never refilled, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. Eventually a table of 8 came in, ordered and got served before we ever even got our check. We know because we heard one gentleman complaining loudly go a passing waitress that his pasta just tasted like Ragu and he was not happy.
The bill came to $250 (with tip, we always tip even if the service isn't great because I personally know what waiting tables is like.) I would compare the food to Olive Garden on an off day. Absolutely not fine dining nor worth $250.
Like I said, they were playing at being a fine...
Read moreDon't waste your time or your money. We will never return. We were there twice in one day for the breakfast buffet (we thought we could order from the menu but when we were seated we were told they don't do that on weekends) and dinner.
When we were seated for breakfast everything was wiped out. It took a while to replenish. We waited 35 minutes for a table, when we were seated only half of the restaurant was occupied. The food was typical low end buffet food. We ordered eggs and that took more than 15 minutes. The waitress eventually came back & wondered why we didn't get our eggs yet.
For dinner we made reservations because the menu looked good. We were nervous because of how bad breakfast was. The atmosphere gives off a nicer vibe but the food was quite the opposite. The is by far one of the worst restaurants that makes you think it's a "fine dining" option, but the food is literally bottom of the barrel in quality.
The sausage app was "cast iron sausage and peppers" but it was served in a cast iron skillet, not cooked in one. It looked boiled maybe. The kids pasta with marinara had a rather small dollop of red sauce on top which smelled and tasted like garbage.
The ranch dressing was not homemade. It tasted like bottled ranch.
The cheese flatbread looked like the gross and bland kids pizza from the pool cabana bar but fresh mozzarella and basil was added to it.
The pappardelle Bolognese tasted even worse with every bite. Everything about this tasted like it was a freezer meal.
If you consider yourself having a palette for high quality food, do not go here. Incredibly overpriced for the...

Dinner Service Took 20 minutes to get a childs seat, After asking twice and watching staff just go about thier business instead of bringing the chair. Management came by finally with the chair but should have communicated that she was trying to find one or something. Server was nice and attentive but Managament came over and just started taking the empty unused appetizer plates from the table and not saying excuse me or any communication.
Breakfast service Took a bit for them to bring drinks, then took silverware from the table even though we needed all sets that were there, and one set was still dirty.
Empty plates started stacking on the table, and we wanted an omelet and waited probably 15 minutes before server came by after we had to catch him before he again went by our table to deal with another table, instead of checking on us as you go by.
All and all I would say there are other options that are cheaper and provide better service and...
