The Feast was a farce. DO NOT EAT HERE! Do not waste your money here! We had the worst dining experience of our lives. While on the island that weekend, we also had the opportunity to eat at The Waterfront, Ocean Star & Bamboo Island which were all 3 exceptional restaurants whereas the Feast came off as cheap fast-food quality cuisine with dank looking picnic tables out front & 70s decor inside in need of serious updating. The only analogy -especially with the emphasis being on the food- would be gold to plastic. The Feast being plastic. The escargot was doused in salt & covered with burnt cheese, and the garlic toast was burnt and dripping with oil. The wine came out with pieces of cork in it floating on the top which our server did replace. Each of our $30 entrees were shockingly disappointing. The scallops were astoundingly rubbery and tiny (they were the size of dimes in depth & diameter) whereas the scallops at all 3 other restaurants were large, buttery, tender & succulent. My husband asked for rice & cole slaw for sides, and they brought out corn & sweet potatoes. The mahi mahi was inedible. Scallops, mahi mahi, cheese, toast and sides were left as is on our plates. We wrote a detailed note on our $100plus tab yet tipped our waiter as the poor quality of food was not his fault. The manager told us the owner & chef (Chris & Joey) were out of town, and the new chef must have gotten sloppy towards the end of the night. When we called to follow up, the manager told us that instead of working on their food, service & menu, the owner & chef apparently decided it would be in their best interest to spend hours scouring through video from days before to look for us and then tell us that the video showed we left with all our food! Unbelievable! Never even offering to apologize even though they couldn't tell us what we looked like on 'said' video. Low quality place. A high-end restaurant would never treat their customers this way, waste hours looking through videos (obviously a complete fabrication & excuse) and obviously would never produce such subpar cuisine both in...
Read moreIf you’re making reservations for “the daily” AYCE Crab Legs DONT!!! We had reservations for 8 which is normal for us and asking when we made reservations if Wednesday they had AYCE they said YES. We sat down and NO Crab Legs on a Wednesday!!! The staff was very rude and made every excuse possible. We ended up walking out and unfortunately will never go back!! Very Disappointed that a local restaurant can not represent themselves with loyalty, not only to locals but especially to out of town guest!!!
After being in the restaurant business for 30 plus years, I have never witnessed an owner of a restaurant fabricating lies on a customer’s review. So let’s start over!! You were correct about the reservation being made on Tuesday, June 4th and I specifically asked if you were offering AYCE Crab Legs on Wednesday, June 5th and your employee said Yes, so a made a reservation for 8 at 5:30 and they said 5:15 was available, which I said was fine. Now, wherever you got this story about me owning 6 houses on the Island is a total lie, I never said anything to that effect and I don’t even live on the island, so you might want to correct yourself. Also, I don’t have a clue where the “King Crab Leg” part came from because that was never offered to us and even if it was we had no interest. I have ordered thousands of frozen snow crab legs that come packed 30-40 pounds per box from our food supplier’s over the years and never had an issue in 30 years. So what ever the issue was last night with being short at 5:15 during your first setting for the evening sounds like a management problem, definitely not a customer problem that you have tried to flip the truth on....
Read moreOur first night in Anna Maria Island we found the Feast and checked out the menu which looked stellar. Ordered wine and calamari then later filet and lobster for my entree. The calamari marinara was so sweet it tasted like the chef was trying to doctor a bad batch and the calamari was over cooked. When I got my entree it looked as if it were cooked to my request med rare but cutting into it was like eating pot roast. Strange consistency and texture not at all like a filet mignon. The lobster was worse it was anorexic and like rubber. The sweet potato side dish was so over seasoned it was a no as well. I informed the manager of how poor an effort it was and would not be eating it. He just kind of shrugged and said it's usually fine. He took it away and I never saw or heard from him again. They took my entree off the bill but no attempt to offer something else or an apology. I'm sorry but if you are going to charge top dollar my experience should reflect that. Our server was very sweet and I made sure it did not affect her tip but there is no way that plate should have ever left the window. Lastly, your wine buyer needs some help. I normally love a New Zealand Sauv Blanc they are normally crisp and fruit forward. I ordered the large by the glass selection. The wine was so extremely tart it was undrinkable. It looks like you have a nice place but attention to detail was sorely lacking that night. Every place can have a bad night it is how you handle it that makes all the difference. This was July 25th late seating. *former restaurateur, wine and...
