Good evening Small Town Creamery Staff. God, Guns, and Small Town Creamery, been saying it since day one…tonight 3 friends and I were caught in a monsoon of rain on the other end of the island. We contemplated an ice cream place there to avoid the severe rain, but wanted Small Town because it’s been a great place in my first experience. It was about 9:17p EST when my friend called and we asked how late they stay open. The employee stated 9:30p. We said there’s 4 of us on our way and it’s raining like crazy but we’ll cut it close since we’re in a golf cart. As we trek through the storm, we’re going as fast as we can and getting soaked, all for that sweet sweet Small Town goodness. We call again at 9:27p to state we just called, we’re still on our way, and we’ll be cutting it close as we’re about 5 minutes away, but we want to have your ice cream. The employee states she’ll have to ask the manager and if the manager locks the door by 9:30p they can’t re-open it. So we’re avoiding lightning strikes as we’re en route and taking every shortcut we can to give this place our business. By some grace of the powers that be, we arrive at their door at 9:30p ON THE DOT - I can verify this as my digital watch is synced to the Atomic Clock. I pull the door and it doesn’t budge. We knock, only to see two employees briefly glance at us and giggle and go back to sweeping. This was heartbreaking and disappointing, especially to call in twice and hope a very small and reasonable exception could be made (which didn’t have to be made since we arrived on time) only to be turned down at the door and laughed at by the staff…For an establishment to not want to make $40 within a span of a couple minutes is a sign of bad business decisions and bad customer service. My friends and I will likely not return here due to...
Read moreI used to frequent the Creamery all of 2021, and if I had made this review back then, everything would have been five stars: the ice cream flavors were so creative and delicious, packed with cookie dough bits or chocolate caramel cups, or whatever each flavor advertised. The girls who worked there always had a smile on their face and were very kind. The store had a beautiful miniature ferris wheel and a photo booth, and I even bought a t-shirt with the Creamery’s logo on it. Now that I return in 2024, after almost three years of dreaming of the Stellar Coffee cold brew freeze I would order, I am greatly disappointed in what Small Town Creamery has become. Most of the in-store decorations are gone, making the place look almost bare. The staff changes every day so there’s no familiar faces to say hello to, and the kids working there seem to mentally be somewhere else and tend to mess up orders. Maybe worst of all, the quality of the ice cream has absolutely plummeted. I used to find at least fifteen caramel cups in my two scoops of ice cream, and now I’d be lucky to find six. The cookie dough pieces are so small you can’t even feel them. The nice flavors and textures of the ice cream have become scarce, and it is so disappointing when half the things that are advertised under the flavor’s description aren’t actually in my cup. I really am sorry to have to give this rating, but whatever change in management there must have been resulted in a sharp downgrade of quality in every aspect of the business. Lucky for Small Town, the selection of flavors at the Two Scoops ice cream shop across the island is too limited to make me prefer it over the former, even if the latter has a better ice cream-to-fillings balance. As a long-time fan, I’m still holding out hope for Small...
Read moreI decided to try this place with my family regardless of the last review because the other ones were so pleasant. I was greeted at the door by, an odor of an ice cream shop, what smelled like waffles, and two young women greeted me.
They had so many flavors it was overwhelming at first then you see they have cards with descriptions, and details of what’s in the ice cream which made making a choice kinda simple if you know what you like. They also offer samples, fudge, candy, and everything in between. The two young ladies steered me towards a flavor I’ve never tried but enjoyed so much I had to have it.
I got a homemade cone which they make to order (smells amazing) with Mexican hot chocolate, and mint chip (I made the kids get the cheap ones), and my wife got a chocolate dipped cone with a black raspberry ice cream, and a salty caramel brownie one. Which I kinda wish I got… But we will be back so far the best variety, nice employees, and the best flavors we’ve found on the...
