I always enjoy my visits to AMI and for the past couple of decades have stayed at the AMI Beach Resort. It feels like I'm "home"! Steps from the beach, or to the pool. Mgmt is responsive in a timely manner. It's in Holmes Beach and near the public beach that has life guards and the Beach Cafe. Pretty much in the center of the island so it's quick to get anywhere. Near Publix, shops, restaurants, the free trolley, and Skinney's! The units have a stocked kitchenette with full size frig and stove. Wifi and cable. Private entrances, and balconies/private patio on first floor. The grounds are nice and when the flowers are in bloom it's gorgeous. The beds are very comfy..funny some other renters when I was there this month also stated they love how comfy the beds are. It's fairly quiet, but when mainland beach goers are in the picnic area it can get a bit loud at times during the day. Each time I've been at AMI Beach Resort the other vacationers are friendly and frequently strike up a conversation..always good to know your neighbors! You can see the wonderful sunsets from the resort or it's just steps to the beach to enjoy the sunset. Linens are provided along with pool towels..take your own towel for the beach because of sand. I stay in unit 9, which is on the second floor and faces the beach. It has a slider in the living room and a balcony. If you're inside looking out it feels like you're at the beach! The resort..at least to me..feels like it's part of the "old" Florida. It's comfy. They are in process of replacing some of the outside and pool furniture to update it. I started visiting Bradenton and AMI back in the 60s as a kid visiting grandparents and later visiting retired parents. When they were no longer there that's when I began choosing the resort. I had always seen it when we'd go to the beach and liked its appearance and location and I always wanted to stay right at the beach and now I do! If you need a modern facility with glitz and glamour you'll need to select somewhere else. The resort is tops for comfort and relaxation and location! I'm always ready to get back to the resort and AMI, with family, friends...
Read moreAnna Marie Island Beach Resort is not @ all what the web site pictures showed!! We were 'catfished' by Rick Bond the manager. He talks very nice, sounds like a decent fellow, but he most defiantly deceived me when I made reservations to this DISGUSTING place! It's Extremely run down, outside & inside not painted in over 2 decades @ least! All shrubbery overgrown. Upon entering room 8, very strong Mold / Mildew hit us in face. Very bad large stains on carpeting. Severe dust pile up on Window blinds, & throughout entire apartment. Refrigerator is OLD! Maybe from early 1980's? & frig door handle broken. Sink dirty & backing up every time I turned water on. I opened below sink cabinet & Hit with mold everywhere!☹️😤😩 When going to bed, discovered bedroom window blinds were missing! Thus No privacy ! Daughter had to hang sheets to window for privacy! Bathroom fan connected to Light in bathroom. Must have Fan on with bathroom light as they're Connected! Daughter pointed out, if Fire broke out & you're in bathroom, LOUD ceiling fan noise Prevebts you from hearing Anything!!😠😞😖 Numerous calls to management not responded to for 8 hours! Returns calls past 930 pm! Neighbor in room 9 this evening told us her room " just as dirty"! That she took a "Xanax in order to get in dirty bed last night w my husband"! Property Not on beach as Promised. Must walk @ least 1 block out to large pebbled beach which then finally turns to finer sand near waters edge. Beach is 60% pebbles & not white sand as promised! Tonight there's a large family (10), staying here also, & it's 11 pm & STILL SCREAMING very loudly!! Police were called by others & came at 9 pm to tell them to quiet! Minute police departed, SCREAMING & partying resumed. I'm not torturing my daughter anymore! We arrived here@ 2 pm today& Demanding my money back in AM! This place not worth more than $20/ night' Do NOT stay here! If you get the room w the Stainless steel refrigerator... I guess you are lucky?? I do Not think that room is here @ this 'resort'! They made me pay 3 days in advance! For decent business practices, I'm requesting all to...
Read moreWe recently stayed in Room 6. Arrived, employee seemed put out that I asked about checking in (wanted me to follow instructions on email he sent) - after I explained that the print was too small for our old eyes to read, he showed us how to get into room. As soon as room door was opened, we were hit with what I can only describe as a "dirty person shut up for weeks in a room smell". Immediately opened all windows and doors to get the stench out. The white ceiling fans were black with dirt. The rail that was holding up shower curtain is coming out of wall. The bathtub is embedded with filth! The king size bed had a sink hole in one side. The outside bedroom patio and furniture was too dirty to use. I sensed by our "welcome committee", that complaining would fall on deaf ears......also....peak season.....our options were minimal.....
For being spring break, peak season, peak $$, I would expect that someone would attempt to keep the grounds cleaner. We are instructed to wash feet before going back to room, but all sidewalks and stairs were so thick with sand, leaves, dirt, that getting your feet wet would only track in more....
The only positive was location........walk across lot to beach....close trolly access. I was told twice, that someone new had bought the place and planned on an upgrade this summer. One can...
