Holy Cow Ice Cream & Other Cool Stuff — Restaurant in Holmes Beach

The ice cream was alright once we went through being yelled at while trying to purchase it. But I would never come back here, some of the rudest service I’ve ever encountered. A “single” is actually 3 scoops and a “double” is 5, which isn’t noted anywhere on their menu and the older gentleman behind the counter angrily explained to my sister as she tried to order a double “is that what she REALLY wants?” . Then I tried to order soft serve in a cone which apparently isn’t allowed because it melts into soup as soon as it comes out of the machine. After the man rudely told me that I couldn’t have a cone he then gave me a random large sized cup of it without asking what size I’d like as the soft serve sizes also weren’t on the menu. After this the daughter took over and my mom tried to order a kids size chocolate soft serve, asking if the smaller of the cups was a kids size this triggered her somehow as she rudely yelled at my mom “that’s a sample cup, the soft serve sizes are whatever I give you, do you want a tablespoon of ice cream cause that’s what you’ll get!?” And then put the smallest amount of VANILLA into a cup and threw it across the counter at my mom. Holy Cow! (I’m not saying that to compliment the name), an expression of “Unbelievable”! The poorest, rudest, lack of customer you could ever imagine. The “owner” or as he likes to put it “the corporate owner”. We came in with a group of 12 including kids who were excited about getting ice cream well that didn’t happen. My adult son asked why they didn’t offer samples….the owner responded with “corporate says no”, my son said, “who’s corporate?”…. The shop owner (who should obviously retire) said I’m corporate (very rudely and nasty). It was the most reckless display of customer service I’ve ever witnessed. It just got worse from there his attitude was he didn’t care about customers, much less selling ice cream. His wife just stood there with the biggest smile ever, probably out of embarrassment or just robotic. Obviously we took our business elsewhere. We had even asked if one of the 4 year olds could use the bathroom and he said no it was out of order. Rude, avoid this place at all cost and push this guy into retirement or selling the place. He’s obviously old and tired of people. Unbelievable! Unbelievable!
