West Coast Surf Shop — Local services in Holmes Beach

I’ve visited the shop many times over the years when on vacation. The staff is nice and the store is very cool. My wife and I decided to purchase new sunglasses at the tune of $700. After wearing the Costa Del Mar sunglasses for only two days I noticed that the black coating was peeling from multiple places. I returned to the store expecting to exchange them and was told by the owner that my only option was to send the glasses back to the manufacturer and they could not do anything at the store. This was not posted anywhere in the store and it is stated on the receipt that they have a 30 day return policy. I didn’t argue or cause an issue in the store, as the owners seem to be nice people and I like the place. However, as a business owner myself, I would never carry a product that didn’t allow me to take care of my customers on the spot within 30 days of purchase. I’ve always purchased from Sunglass Hut and they have always taken care of me with any issues I have ever had with their products. I like to support small businesses, but not all owners handle issues like I do....

I LOVED this little shop! We were on a family vacation and decided to stop in this place after finding it on Google since I had yet to find a shop that carried a wide variety of my favorite brand of swimwear and when I walked in they had a whole WALL of it! The people were very friendly and very helpful and although we were there so I could look for a swimsuit, EVERYONE ended up buying something! We each found hats, flipflops, swimsuits and apparel that were a far cry from the cheaper "souvenir" swim shops on most beaches! Also, I left my expensive prescription sunglasses in the dressing room and realized it a few hours later and when I called they had them waiting for me! SO THANKFUL FOR...

I’d think twice about buying here. The woman (owner) was very nasty to us in front of our two daughters … gave one a panic attack just about. We spent over $400 and were verbally attacked at the register bc we complained that they took 3-4 people ahead of us instead of ringing us out first. Seems odd… maybe they need a vacation. We won’t be back. My Fav rule of this surf shop is you cannot buy just a bottom or a tip for a suit you have to buy the whole thing! Even though they are priced and tagged separately. If that isn’t ripping people off...
