I arrive around noon, after driving for more than 14 hours, The first lady I encountered was me walk in. She was turned with her back mostly to me, glanced my way when I said excuse me she shortly replied, "I'll be with you in a few moments." Turned her back fully to me and continued her chit chat with another employee. Multiple times I was treated in a second rate manner. Other guests I can only assume are more long term guests, were greeting and were engaged in conversations, chit chat and greetings. The front desk gal was somewhat rude in first saying i couldn't check in early. I said I can't check in early? explaining an early check charge. Saying I could not check in earlier than 2 pm without being charged because of the system. I was confused. Most places have the ability to make accomidations, in special circumstances or upon request. Made me feel for early they really don't care or weren't willing to try to accommodate. She said it was due to their system wouldn't let any type of early check in. Then she stated not until around 2. In reality it is a corporate policy. Maybe there is something in their system, I don't know. I do know she was unpleasant to the point I considered taking that time to search for a different place. Not having somewhere to go I went to my vehicle and began to search other options. After a quick search, and googling early check in charges. This was the first with a ton of bad reviews to pop up. Saying caution, warning, you WILL regret booking and staying here, DO NOT stay here etc. Days later I looked into another Extended Stay America in Webster City just to compare and wanting to check if it was an isolated incident and discovered it was NOT! Both properties were dingy and dirty. . Both had rude afternoon desk attendants. (The one in Webster City has a posted sign about non working sprinkler systems signed by the fire chief!?) The two male night staff were friendly and hospitable unlike the ladies from the afternoon. I haven't ever tried to reserve any type of extended stay facilities before and so I am unfamiliar with what to expect. I try to keep an open mind and give time to experience day and night shift changes in staff. The room I was given was on the 3rd floor. Which I think puts a strain on the sites budget due to Houston is hot and humid and this place has a house cleaning staff that does not appear to be diligent in their duties. The room was muggy and reaked of dog urine. When I opened the window in attempt to let it air out, the smell was stronger. I slammed the window shut and turned the air conditioning as low as it would go 66 degrees. (I left it running, even if I left briefly, so it would keep the pugnant odor subdued.) I used my hair spray and perfume to alleviate. Maybe they could change the air filters or change more frequently. I know there was a dog in the room next door because it began to bark when I was bringing my luggage up into the room. (I do NOT doubt nor deny the puppy smelled my kitty's smell that travels as most odors will. Don't get me wrong I am an animal lover whether dog, cat, bird bear or what have you.. So it is nothing personal towards canines.) My 2 felines were NOT traveling with me however, I am realistic in knowing their scent will. I saw people with their dogs that stay here. In the elevator is a poster boasting "you can relax in your stay with our 10 point cleaning system." Maybe they could use more of the products they were advertising they use or talk to with companies about a more efficient use of the products. I didn't want to complain while I was staying for fear of retaliation. Which is how I felt when the oder hit me walking into the room. I give benefit of the doubt. I wanted to see if issues isolated. Sad to say it is not. I don't know how they get 2 stars. Unless they have their friends and family that stay. I hesitate in giving one star, but do so because the night staff compensated for day crew. Thanks for reading GOOD...
Read moreIf I could give this hotel a Zero (0) star rating I definitely would. I paid for a 2 night stay in a 2 queen bed room with a pull out couch that cost me $378 in 6/19-6/21. We arrived at 3pm to check in. Once we got up to our room we immediately noticed there was no pull out couch and the beds seemed to be 2 full beds instead of queens. We had traveled 8hrs with 2 children under the age of 5 and so we decided to just bite that part of the stay and to just keep the room. The faucet in the bath tub was on a constant run (not drip) because it wouldn't shut off. The pool was very dirty and the pool area where the chairs and tables are were also very unkept. Day 2 we left our room in hopes that the maids would come in and change our bedding and do some cleaning up for us, but the NEVER showed. When we left that morning the maid was a couple rooms down from us so we thought surely she would be coming to our room soon but unfortunately never did. It wasn't until night 2 that I needed to dry my hair and the blow dryer did not work, however I did find an extra one that did work under the bathroom sink, where I also saw about 5 dead cockroaches laying next to it. I did take pictures of this because I was so upset. My friend who was staying with me informed me all the cabinets had roach traps in them (which I hadn't gone around the room to even notice those) so there is a KNOWN bug problem by the hotel. The shower looked to be never cleaned. Had a ring around the tub. We all had to wear shower shoes in order to shower. I went to Kroger and bought some fabulouso to clean the floors in the room and the amount of dirt that had come up off the floor the first day was disgusting. If I'm paying almost $200 a night I definitely dont expect to find dead roaches in my room and I definitely expect it to be clean and liveable. This was THE WORST experience I've ever had in my 34yrs of life. I've stayed at motel 6's that were cleanier than this. 0/10 rating for me. I will never be staying here again. Fully disgusted by the...
Read moreThe owner of this hotel is very violent and verbally abusive. He portrays himself as just the manager when in reality he is the actual owner. This man-child will literally cause a confrontation and then refuse to speak to you because you are a woman and demand to speak to your husband. Funny story thought because the reservation is in my name as the primary and my husband is on there as a authorized occupant. So everything came to a head because i asked this man for my taxes back after spending over 30 days at the hotel, for which i have proof, i booked and paid the reservation through his front desk staff so that he no longer had to pay booking.com whatever fee he was talking about. I paid an $85 flat rate for my room which cost me about $60 more a week in the long run. I started doing this on August 22nd so September 22nd made my 30 days which by Texas State Tax Code Law i become tax free and can get my taxes back from the previous 30 days. After asking the owner about this he became extremely rude and verbally abusive claiming i was yelling at him and he did not like how i was speaking to him. My tone stayed the same the whole time, i finished the conversation by saying ok sir I'm 5 months pregnant and don't have the energy to argue with you any further. He then yelled at me then you all can pack your bags and get out or i will call the police, then referred to me as a huge problem even though i never come out of my room. This is the same man that belittles you when his staff cusses you out. This man has his whole family staying at the hotel so don't be shocked when you see his wife, young son, dad, mother and grandmother sitting behind the desk, sitting in the lobby, walking around the hotel staring into rooms and all that good stuff. Also don't expect to have any type of breakfast cause he doesn't provide or order it to the hotel. He is constantly on his phone claiming meetings instead of tending to guests standing...
