Amazing! Please Stay Here! You won't be disappointed. Little tip, Shuttle runs to the airport beginning at 5am and stops running at 10PM CST so you might have to Uber or Lyft if your flights too earlier or late coming in. Back to my Real Review: My stay for my birthday weekend was amazing. My actual days there were Thursday 8/22/2024 to Tuesday 8/27/2024. However my late arrival from the airport made me make the choice to take a uber to the hotel ($17.85) was my total but no funny stuff, got me to my hotel in a timely manner. From the time I stepped into the lobby, I knew I was at my "Home Away From Home". The lobby was extremely clean and you can tell that there was constructions still finishing up however it did not take away from the beauty that this hotel was overall. Each floor had ice machines that worked completely fine. My room was a two double beds because my best friend was coming to celebrate with me and when we walked in, it was super clean, super cold (like they know we were coming), fresh linens. The nightly rate was around $65.00 a night and there were bus stops located just outside if you wanted to jump on a bus to tour the city but we didn't. We did tour the city and each time we came back to our room, the trash was emptied, the hallways spelled like they has just been cleaned of vacuumed with carpet fresh. Houston and this hotel really made me and my best friend feel so safe and at home. Thank you Laquinta inn and suites for making my birthday the best one I've had in a long time. Oh Yeah, Don't forget to go visit the 24 hour restaurant (it's literally two hotels down and you can't miss it. It was so delicious! The portion sizes is big as well, everything's bigger in Texas. Me and my best friend plan to make it a yearly trip, well not next year because we will be in Santorini Greece for our Nifty 50 Birthday. But thank you for making us feel so safe and welcomed. Have a great week! And don't forget to take a dip in the pool (Yes it was open and beautiful). They even have a gazebo on site that has bar b que area that you can roast some hot dogs and hamburgers as well. The Garden was the best part, to get out there sit there under the shade and enjoy the nightly weather. Go! Go! Go! You will love it here. Me and my best friend couldn't find nothing to complain., Everything...
Read moreThe hotel was under renovation. I would’ve liked to have known this before I booked. I needed to wash clothes (we’re flying overseas) and weren’t able to use it due to this renovation. The pool was also not available due to this even tho the website never mentioned it being closed. I booked this hotel specifically bc it had a pool. I booked my room in my name thru Expedia. My stepmom booked her room under her name thru Wyndham and used her rewards. My husband and I went to check in. The front desk clerk, AVI, asked for ID & credit card. My husband gave him his as mine were packed. He wouldn’t accept either bc the room was in my name. He also couldn’t/wouldn’t cancel the room and put it in my husbands name so we could complete the check in. I had to go search through 12 bags of luggage to find my ID. Then he wouldn’t accept my credit card bc it had my husbands name on it. (Same last name). He was rude, showed no empathy towards the minor(ish) problems. My step mom was in the same situation. All the cards she had on her were in her husbands name & even though he was standing there beside her, they wouldn’t let her use his card. The reason for them was bc he didn’t have his physical id, only a copy of his on his phone. He canceled their reservation and told her she could pay all in cash but the room would now be more expensive that $150 that she had paid on the app. They decided not to stay but we had already check in by this point and loaded all of our luggage in a storage closet. He wouldn’t let us speak to a manager. Said the manager would tell us the same thing. Reading through other reviews, I see AVI has caused problems with guests before. Wish I had read reviews. Wish Expedia had shown the hotel was under renovation.
The only positive is that this hotel is nice. The rooms are nice. The lobby is being renovated very nicely. It’s just nice all around except the customer service/employees. I believe after this interaction and especially after reading other reviews that AVI is trying to get money from guests by not letting them use their cards/trying to make them...
Read moreI came here from Tennessee to Texas for a business trip based off the reviews
I saw online the hotel appear to be decent I checked in at 9:25 went upstairs through the elevator notice several things that were not seem right such as the carpet; it looked extremely dirty and there was a deep mildy mildew smell throughout the hotel.
Went into room 517 the green couch looked very run down run in and it appeared to have something black on the armrest and on the seats/cushions this hotel was not acceptable for me to stay in.I didnt touch anything!
Nor did I feel safe nor(based off multiple guest I saw, smelled marijuana, saw a couple coming in the side entrance of hotel without using a key, just opened the door) did not look clean I immediately came back downstairs by 9:30 p.m.
I had already checked out and walked over to another hotel. I normally take photographs of the hotel that I stay in when I do travel outside of Tennessee in this instance I did not bother to take photos of anything simply because I was that disgusted and wanted to get out of that room and out of that hotel immediately.
I would not recommend this hotel for various reasons I did speak with the front desk lady her name is Victoria she was very kind and understood my reasons why I did not want to stay she explained to me that there may be a charge on my card but if there is a charge she said it would be reversed because I did not stay at the hotel she also offered me the general manager's name and phone number in the event there is a charge on my credit card.
I will be reaching out to her next week just to verify no charges are there the outside of the hotel look nice however the inside is what needs a serious remodeling I am an avid Traveler and I would not stay at this hotel again unless it was...
