I'm a loyal Marriott member so this should've been a safe bet. The hotel is clean and located in a safe area, however the service ruins the experience. I reserved a room for one night, extended for another night as I was in town for a funeral. The staff informed me that I could extend but that I would have to change rooms. I've never had to do this but I agreed to move across the hall. I was told they honored my 4pm late checkout for titanium member. At 1205, a staff member knocked on my for and asked why I wasn't out of the room. I told her I was moving to another room, and that I would be out by 4. She threw her hands on the air and walked away, frustrated. What is going on, I think?! After moving into that room, it smells heavily of smoke. After a lengthy discussion the desk attendant agreed to move me to another room, the same type of room I originally left! This new room had no cold water pressure and the water was cloudy. (See picture) Furthermore, breakfast closed at 10 (weekends) and 9 (weekdays).I showed up at 830 on the weekend and they were out of sausage and eggs, I made waffles, they were out of syrup. I settled for no breakfast and went to get coffee, they were out. I was told that others before me ate too much. I said, breakfast closed at 10, you should have enough food for everyone until then, we paid for it. I was told it would be fixed. The next day I show up 45 minutes before breakfast ended, same result. This time they were out of bacon, biscuits and gravy, and eggs. Ridiculous! This is just how this hotel operates. I stopped at the front desk and asked for food from their pantry since I was denied breakfast twice! They told me I could buy food and they charged me for a small snack. This is truly horrible, crooked customer service. This service isn't reflective of all Marriott hotels, but this was a truly horrible experience. I recommend...
Read moreI don't normally leave reviews but this hotel deserves one. The only time housekeeping serviced my room was when I asked them to, on day 3 of my stay. My bedding had spots of dried blood on 3 different pillows, the top sheet, and the fitted sheet on one of the double queens. I had left food items in my trashcan expecting housekeeping to remove it while I was away for work during the day. My trashcans are currently sitting outside of my room in the hallway as they have started to smell and no one has come by. I tried to call the front desk from my room phone to ask for assistance, and my rooms' phone can't even reach the front desk, it's just a busy tone. Toilet paper in the bathrooms is the thinnest 2-ply I have ever seen, it is thinner than a normal 1-ply. MY co-workers room has not been serviced by housekeeping the entire stay. Aside from all of that, the hotel staff is friendly enough, the rooms are okay, the bathrooms are fine. Everything is as basic as it can be and in certain cases is below-standard. I believe all these problems stem from bad hotel management. There are also many employees, every time I visit the front desk there is someone new. This leads me to believe the hotel is broke and has to hire many people to work sub-40 hour work schedules, since they can't afford to pay the benefits for 40 hour work weeks (a tactic used in the fast food industry). Overall I did not appreciate my stay and this is the most hassle I have dealt with from a hotel in a long time. I have travelled to many different places and stayed in many different brands of hotels. This specific Marriot is sub-par to a cheaper Choice hotel. Would not recommedn staying here if you value cleanliness and customer...
Read moreGrowing up in the outskirts of Washington DC, the Marriott Twin Bridges was "the" place to stay and eat, had many great times there. the restaurants were top notch.,WE planed a trip to Ohio for a birthday party, looking for a Motel that accepted small pets on line We found the Fairfield, a little out of my price range, but , you only live once so why not splurge a little after all it was a Marriott ( a brand i remember from my youth as (top notch).after driving 15 hours we were extremely tired and just wanted to unpack and sleep. we were constantly woken up by a noisy hallway activity, causing our little dog to bark, not being able to sleep we got up took a shower and went shopping, that's when we discovered the TV wasn't working, i even checked to make sure it was plugged in. I didn't report it to the staff, as i mentioned I have a little dog, (she's not the friendliest dog around strangers, and didn't want to stress her more with strangers in the room.My wife complained about the bed she felt she was going to fall out of it being so worn on the edges. we were only going to stay 2 days, I'm sure they would have given us another room, but I didn't fill like re packing unpacking and repacking again for the long trip home. Sorry I just expected more from a Marriott, I have stayed at lower cost independent hotels a whole lot better than this Fairfield. we checked out early (10pm) due to not being able to sleep not a good thing to do before a 15 hour drive, but we just wanted some much needed...
