I am going to keep negatively reviewing places that don't require their staff to be friendly and helpful. Went to this store in Niles for the first time last night, and I won't be going back. The young man who "waited on" (I use this term loosely) was aloof at best, and I felt downright unpleasant and discourteous. Since this was our first time going there, I was pretty unfamiliar with how it works. Nobody greeted us as we entered. We finally walked down to the end and saw the ice cream. We went there because I had seen them advertise almond milk ice cream. I asked the kids if they had that. He said no. Then my wife saw the poster hanging in the store so I said that do you have that? He then said yes. So I ordered a small dish. He asked if I wanted anything in it. Like I said, I had never been there, wasn't sure how that worked, so I told him it was my first time and I didn't know how that worked. Nothing. Not a word. Just stood there like I was taking his valuable time. I finally walked down to where I found toppings. After several minutes he managed to meet me down there where he said nothing. So I picked 2 toppings and he finished my dish. Then he moseyed down to where my wife was still waiting to place her order and gave her similar treatment. Now, this kid didn't overtly say anything discourteous, his body language and demeanor were saying much more than what his mouth did or did not say. If managers are not going to require employees to smile and be friendly then I am not going patronize their stores. This place is awful, and the ice cream is nothing...
Read morethere was a teenager there who kept shooting us weird looks after we said we were just looking because it was our first time there. we ordered with someone else after he walked away, and when he came back he asked us if we wanted any more ice cream. we said no thank you, then shortly after when our food was getting mixed he held up his phone in our direction and started blatantly taking photos of us for a good ten seconds or so. i told my husband when i noticed and when we looked over at him he shot his phone back down quick like nothing happened and proceeded to sit with his back to us with his face flaming red. it made us extremely uncomfortable; we're both gay with dyed hair and piercings, and we lean on each other a lot in public. it made us so uncomfortable to have our photos taken just because we were existing and ordering food. it felt targeted, and i had to hold my husband back from saying anything to get him to stop. going out in public for ice cream and instead being treated like a zoo animal over absolutely nothing wasn't in the books for today. on a side note, the food was good, the person who served us was amazing, and i'm sitting at home enjoying...
Read moreMe and 3 of my friends came in tonight (11/6/25) about 30 minutes before close. The guy and girl working were very unpleasant and ignorant. The girl had an attitude and was slamming things and just being overly aggressive. They were complaining OUTLOUD about how we were in there 30 minutes before close which sure I get it, it’s sucks cause I’m sure they started cleaning up but still absolutely no reason to act like that. It’s not like we came in 5 minutes before. The guy said to the girl working with him that he’s tired of people ordering what they want, which he also said OUTLOUD infront of us. He also had a nasty attitude. my one friend asked if he could get whatever flavor he ordered and the guy let out a huge sigh and went I guess.
Both were very huffy and puffy the entire time along with the ignorance. I just don’t understand why be so nasty to people who came in being nice and were nice the entire time? 😕 kinda bums me out because I like cold stone, but honestly this ruined...
