Imbibe — Restaurant in Indianapolis

Driving through town stopped in to have a few beers and shoot some pool because we had heard of there game room and pool tables being a good experience. Asked for a bucket of Budweiser they don’t have carry that beer nor do they offer buckets or any drink specials which was disappointing to start. Go upstairs to there game room almost every pool table had torn felt and stains from various fluids carpet was greasy and dingy. We find a decent table to shoot pool and find that the bar had no chalk for the ques anywhere mind you it costs $10/hr for a table then per asking the bartender for chalk she has no answer to providing any I request money back and she denies so we play a miserable game of pool have our $30 bucket of beer set our pool balls to the side so nobody takes our dingy table and take a smoke break outside when I receive an emergency call for my daughter so we leave. Next day my card is charged for $75 for the hour of pool because of the pool balls we set to the side. Two days later I decide to go back and have a civil conversation upon the misunderstanding where I am then denied service because “the cost needs to be set right with the bar” for what seems to be an up and coming area this establishment appears to be drowning in the pond of businesses that are flourishing around it. Just had my first "You people" comment directed at me. Had a friend from out of town that just moved to Fountain Square, so took him to the Fountain square theater building to have some beers at Imbibe.

After two delicious beers each of a fantastic bourbon barrel brew out of Kentucky, I noticed cans of "Old Style" and inquired of the price. $2. or something like that, so I asked if they had PBR as well.

To which the bartender said, "no we don't, I don't like that we have these either, I don't want anyone asking for $2 beer in my bar, those people can go somewhere else."

To which my friend asked if we were basically just told not to come back?

Really Mr. Bartender? On a Friday night, at 7:30p with maybe 3 other customers at your bar, you want to be selective about which people come based on the beer they drink? Well, I won't be back, and am taking the place off of my list of cool places to take my friends that have never been. There are many other friendly people in Fountain Square that would be happy to take however much money we will spend. Even at $2 at a time...... Where is #poorcustomerservice. I think I found it. Proud to be one of #thosepeople.

been coming here for years, always loved it. but staff and security failed us BIG TIME last night. aggressive man harassing me and my friend (two girls), they waited too long to step in and do anything about it, and when they did, they focused on “calming us down” and talking over us instead of listening to what he did wrong. took over 45 mins for weak security to “get him out”. was told he was gone off the property so we could return from our stationed hiding spot upstairs. walked back into the bar downstairs and there he is banging punching on the glass from inside their lobby, right in front of our faces, pointing and trying to come after us again!! terrifying! we were told he was gone and they let him back in. he intimidated and came after us TWICE. when we tell security “he was supposed to be gone wtf is happening” there they go again talking over us, not listening, acting like we are the problem instead of getting rid of the man. trying to avoid police i respect but if it takes more than an hour to get someone to leave the property, your security isn’t trained properly and someone else needs to step in. bartender failed not stepping in sooner the first place, security failed not getting rid of a man who was clearly belligerent and in the wrong. they did...
