A close friend of mine currently resides at Portside Villas. Although she was hesitant to share her experience publicly due to concerns about possible repercussions, I’ve personally witnessed many of the issues she has faced and feel it’s important to bring them to light.

There is a persistent lack of stable maintenance staffing—workers frequently change, and as a result, ongoing problems are often neglected. While minor emergencies may be addressed, larger or long-term repairs are left unresolved for years. Flooring, cabinetry, closets, and bathroom fixtures frequently remain in disrepair, and dishwashers often malfunction and are replaced with outdated units that fail again shortly thereafter.

Maintenance requests and complaints appear inconsistently managed; some are addressed while others seem to disappear entirely. The leasing office often makes assurances that are not fulfilled, leaving residents frustrated and without resolution.

Tenants living in the tax-credit units appear to be especially neglected, often enduring unsafe living conditions that include mold and pest issues—conditions that can pose serious health risks, particularly to children.

For anyone considering moving into Portside Villas, I urge you to look beyond appearances. While the property may seem appealing at first glance, the lack of proper maintenance and genuine resident care is a serious concern. Among the apartments in this small town, these are the most impressive. The staff exhibits outstanding dedication, from the maintenance team, including the individual in the blue truck who consistently goes above and beyond despite needing more support, to the office personnel. Shelby stands out as an exceptional assistant manager, leasing agent, and tech support specialist, while Mari works equally hard and provides support in Spanish. The maintenance expert in the blue truck is particularly skilled in HVAC system maintenance and installation. I love living here. The staff is just amazing. They always go above and beyond to make sure the property is well maintained. If there are any issues inside of the house they are very quick to get them fixed.
