Was not my favorite stay. We stopped here as a halfway point on a trip home to Tennessee coming from a funeral in Michigan. After driving close to a thousand miles in three days, we picked this hotel specifically because they were one of the only ones that said their pool was open until midnight, we were going to be arriving just after 10 p.m., & all our daughter wanted to do was have time to swim, which we were trying to arrange for her as somewhat of a break from the grim events of the weekend. Well, first off, once we finally got checked in & got our stuff upstairs, before we had time to get changed it became evident that we'd need maintenance or a new room due to a faulty toilet in our room. Called the front desk, finally ended up moving to a new room. Let me just add that the FIRST gentleman that checked us in & helped us with the new room was WONDERFUL. Couldn't have asked for a nicer guy. Sure wish he'd been there for third shift. After finally getting settled, we finally made it down to the pool just after 11. We thought ok, at least our daughter will have an hour to swim. Better than nothing. Fast forward to 11:40, in comes what is apparently the third shift employee. "The pool is closing." My husband replied that yes, we were aware it closed at 12, & the man left. Didn't think much of it, we thought ok, he was just making sure we knew it was almost 12 which was fine, totally understandable. We told our daughter she could go around the pool a few more times because we should have had 20 minutes left, right? Except... Within 5 minutes Mr Third Shift was back in there - "The pool is closed." After which he proceeded to TURN THE LIGHTS OUT on us before my daughter & I were even out of the pool!!! Are you kidding?? So we got out, at 11:45, in the dark, dried off as best we could, & took our now confused & disappointed daughter back up to the room. On the way up, we encountered another guest staying there who asked us if the man had kicked us out of the pool early. When we said yes, she informed us he'd done the same thing to her & both of her children the night before. While I realize it's only 15 minutes, it's the principle of the whole thing. What would it have hurt to let a child swim for a few more minutes? And really? Turning the lights off while there is still a child in the pool?? How, exactly, is that safe?? Trying to climb up out of a pool in the dark?? The other guest we spoke with suggested we speak with the day manager the following day, which is what she had done, so my husband did, & he too, like the first gentleman, was very nice, very apologetic, & did the best he could to make things better for us, which we did appreciate very much. If I could rate them individually, I'd give 5 stars to the man who checked us in, & the manager that helped us out the next day. Negative stars for the one from third shift. We've stayed at numerous Country Inns before & loved it each time until this one. I try to not leave negative reviews but I just really couldn't believe it all, & I really don't appreciate it happening to my daughter. It may seem petty to some people & that's fine, it's not meant to be, but like I said, it's the principle. It just wasn't necessary....
Read moreCame out for a bourbon trail trip Location itself isn't horrible. Its hard to find. But well placed between downtown aand the actual bourbon trail. Anywhere from 30 to 45 kin either direction for distilleries and night life. But the service eas trash I needed a roll in shower When we checked in dropped our stuff and left Came back see the room was not what was needed We didnt stuck arround to check everything. I was told "nothing I can do about that" and "what do you want me to do about it" from Amy at the front desk. Zero care or reguard for my disabilities and need to take a shower after the first day was over 94°. Secondly they took a cash deposit. I asked about this because usually they onky take card. Well qhen we tried to leave they refused to give me my money back After about 20 minutes of arguing with this young man who if I had to guess was family to the owner Came out with my paperwork in hand my name on the paper that matched the I.D. I showed him he reluctantly handed me my cash. And scolded me telling me next time I should..... I cut him off and explained his cleaning staff went into the drawer in the room took my proof of payment and threw it out. And that's another thing. They never in the 4 days we were there changed the sheets. I know this because they blankets were done and the bed was turned down but the same stain was on the same corner of the fitted sheet every day. We would come back from the day of traveling arround and the room looked clean but pull back the covers and the same stain in the same spot. I even had to go ask for a second roll of toilet paper because the first roll was almost gone when we got to the room and they didnt at least start us off with a fresh roll or at the very least leave us with an extra one. I would strongly recommend you to go anywhere else other than this location. Absolute scam and waste of time. Not to mention how dirty and hot it was. Walk into the lobby and it was hotter than outside. The elevator was even .ore disgusting. And they were supposed to have brekfast. Not once did they have brekfast available during our stay. I would never recommend this place to anyone. And i am also going to recomend booking.com and all other sites stop working with this location as well. We booked through booking.com and i will be letting them know what a disaster this place...
Read moreI spent 2 nights at this hotel and had a wonderful time. My room was clean. Plenty of towels. Everything you expected of a hotel like shampoo, Conditioner, hand soap, lotion and even makeup removal towelettes. They had the hair dryer, iron, ironing bord, hangers, mini fridge and microwave. Cable TV, Plenty of seating and a comfy bed. Everything was clean and nicely placed. There was an extra door ( I assume the door is to join the rooms for larger parties.) Lots of space to move around and lights to choose from. In the morning between 6:30 - 9:30 there was a nice breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, several choices of cereal, boiled eggs, waffles, yogurt, several types of breads, apple juice and orange juice. The ladies at the counter where very nice and helpful. They even send a text to my phone welcoming me to my room. There is an indoor pool not super clean but clean enough I got in for about an hour or so. The only real complaind I had was the pillows on the bed were small. However, I like the fact that they had 2 fether pillows and 2 cotton pillows because I love father pillows and my husband does not. I thought I got an awesome deal for a room that was less then $100 a night. My first night I usted Priceline for the room and was quoted $75 for the room after tax I paid $94.98. The next night I just asked the hotel for a room. I was quoted $80 for the room after tax $95.69. So it was about the same price. I totally recommend. Check out my photos.
Update: I went back 2 weeks later. Had to change my review from 5 stars to 4 stars. This time I got a room on the 4th floor. The room is set up kinda like the first one I stayed in. Except much smaller. The room had everything the other room had except for the couch. That was no big deal. However, what made them lose their star was; blood drop on the pillow case, my back hurt when I woke, and the 20 minutes I had to wait for hot water. They only lost one star because their breakfast was different this time. This time there was mini omelets, potatoes, and round sausage instead of scrambled eggs, sausage links and biscuits. Although the food was not real hot still good. There maybe a next time if they have a room that is not on the 4th floor or at least...
