I was very hopeful that this hotel would match the quality that I've experienced at other hotels in the Marriott chain, but unfortunately, there is much that needs to be improved here. The hotel wasn't terrible, but I certainly would never want to stay here again. Here are the pros and cons based on my recent stay with my wife and toddler: ||Pros: |+Spacious Room|+Comfortable Bed|+Friendly Staff||Cons: |-Strong chemical smell in our room (and lingering throughout the hotel) that we were not able to get rid of, even with opening the window. I asked the front desk clerk about the smell and he was not able to change our room but provided me with a spray to try. The spray unfortunately did not help much. The chemical smell was so strong that the scent was still on my clothes the next day after we had left the hotel. It was very off-putting.|-The room itself felt like we were in a hospital. I typically enjoy taking a shower at a hotel but opted to stay out of the bathroom as much as possible due to the very clinical feel. One of the lights wasn't working well, so that likely contributed to that feeling as well. |- Breakfast was subpar, especially considering that I've had much better breakfast at two other Mariott locations (a Fairfield Inn and Suites in Boston and a Residence Inn in Asheville). The eggs tasted as if they had been whipped up some kind of instant eggs, and the biscuits and gravy were room temperature even though they were in the covered buffet container. The waffle batter was also running low. We ended up not eating much at this hotel.|-Pool was very small. Not sure of the cleanliness as I didn't even want to try it at this point given how I felt about so much else in the hotel.|-There were no luggage carts available when we arrived, and by the time we found one, we had already transported most of our luggage upstairs. The next day when we were checking out, I asked the front desk clerk about luggage carts and she apologized saying that the hotel only has one. I was very surprised. This is a sizable hotel, and it only has one luggage cart? This hotel really needs to up their game in this area if they want to be of the most service to the many guests who come in and out. ||Would I stay here again? No. Would I recommend it to others? Not unless you have absolutely nowhere else to book and this ends up being your best option. It wasn't a terrible hotel---like I said, the room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly enough-but for the many other reasons I mentioned, I would be hard pressed to stay here again or recommend it to others unless they made some...
Read moreMy short visit started off by me arriving at the hotel at 4 pm and during the check in process was asked the reason for my stay, I told the front desk clerk that I was staying there to get out of the house and to take my 3 year old son swimming. After i got checked in, gave the clerk my debit card for the stay and was handed the keys to my room i asked where the pool was located. Then i was informed by the women, after charging my card, that the pool was out of order because someone had an "accident" a couple days before. She told me would be checking the levels at 5 pm. In shock of what I was told I just walk off and went up to the room with all my luggage to sit and wait, hopeful the pool would be ready soon. After an hour wait i walk down to the desk and she tells me she hasn't had time to check the pool and will do it shortly. I go back to the room and start to gather all of my things. I called down at 5:15 and she tells me it still wasn't ready yet and it would be ready that night. I thought to myself, TONIGHT? I have a 3 year old that wants to swim and I have to wait till later when the pool closes at 11 pm! I decided that it would be best to just leave. My mom is the sales manager at a Marriott in Atlanta, so I stay at the various Marriott hotels often. I have never had such horrible customer service. I couldn't believe that she didn't inform me before she checked me in the pool was closed, especially knowing that was the reason for my stay. Needless to say I left the hotel very upset and frustrated. And after everything that happened all she said to me was that my card wouldn't be charged, but the hold would remain till my bank released it. I wasn't even offered an apology, which is unacceptable. Thanks for wasting my...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel during a girls trip, and it was a really strange and disappointing stay. Upon arrival, the front desk woman acted as if she couldn’t find my reservation because I handed her my military ID (it was booked through a military service), and finally got it with my drivers license. When we got to our room, it was really musty and damp. Thinking it would change because of the moving air of the air conditioner, we went down to the pool which was cold, dirty and had no towels except for a soaked line of 4 wet towels on the floor. After going back up to our room, the smell had just gotten worse.
Later on we went down to the lobby to get coffee and hot chocolate. There was no water, and the coffee was ice cold. We ended up getting the cold water downed coffee, taking it up to the room and microwaving it as well as using tap water (microwaved) for hot chocolate. After the coffee, we went back down to the lobby to get a snack and drink. Most of the shelves were empty, but we got 2 small containers of Mac and cheese, a bag of Fritos, and 2 sodas. The front desk then told us that they had become cash only due to their system issue and then proceeded to charge us over $21.00 for items that are usually under $10 all together. Got back up to the room, the Mac and cheese were both bad.
Because of the damp musty room, I woke up really stuffy. And everything smelled musty.
Breakfast left much to be desired for most of the people, including us that were there. None of the juices were available, except for orange juice that was severely watered down.
Check-out thankfully...
