I lost my home, most of my things destroyed in the rain, my boyfriend, my 2 special needs dogs and myself stood outside in the freezing rain watching as our things were ruined. We literally had no place to go, no car because the transmission went out the week before, the only money we had was an uncashed paycheck that was lost in the mess, and we received no help for 3 days. I reached out to people on Facebook to please foster my animals for a few days until we could get this sorted out, so they don’t freeze, and with my background in animal rescue, I had a lot more friends out there then I ever imagined. These wonderful people came together to raise money for us to have a place to stay for a week, so my animals didn’t have to be separated from us, one is blind and one is Down syndrome. There was a miscommunication somewhere, and even tho the front desk played with My blind dog, and held the other, they didn’t realize we had them there? and put us on the 3rd floor, Where later I found out we were supposed to be on the first. After a two night stay so far with no issues from us, she finally noticed us walking the dogs she had talked to several times, and was trying to correct a mistake. This hotel ran my card, which didn’t have permission, 21 times trykgn to get the extra money for these animals, as I stated earlier I had no money, and I volunteered to move to the bottom floor but wanted a room with 2 beds, I did not take The name microtel literally. Long story short, my voluntary move became a demand and because I didn’t have the $50 upgrade fee yet, And I chose not to move til we did, (I told the manager I’d have it soon), we were kicked Out, and all these wonderful people who raised these funds for us, had to stand back and watch their hard earned money go to waste so this manager could have his temper tantrum and get his way, so he could have the room cleaned by a certain time. We are also out several hundreds more dollars because of the negative balance he made my account, he lied to me saying he’d refund their money, he lied to them saying we could come back, when we called to do so they told us they refunded the money back on the card which was also a lie. His name is Pat, thats all he’d give us. What really makes me angry is that he also lied and said I cussed him, on a normal day, yes, I would have, but I did not, I actually hung up the phone telling him I’m going to do it didn’t escalate to that, that is when he knocked on my door saying I had til noon to leave or he would have the police escort me out, THATS when I realize my voluntarily moving rooms became a demand, and by then it was too late. I had not slept in 5 days, i was tired, from trying to salvage what I could from the rain, from stress, anger, humiliation, and sadness, and this jerk literally has NOONE to discipline his terrible behavior. He was just showing his authority and literally took it way too far, I don’t even know how people like him can sleep at night. I hope it makes Him feel good knowing he took hard earned money that these people so kindly donated to give us shelter, away from them, along with our shelter, our breakfast, the only meal we had, and I sat there begging him not to do this, we didn’t even have a car to get anywhere. As he stood there with his smirk, his half grin like it’s funny. You all will never understand the humiliation he put us through, and then to say he won’t refund and we could come back,??!! That alone should prove I didn’t do anything to deserve to be kicked out. But for me to take that humiliation and try to come back to keep my babies out of the cold and to ensure these people monies went where it was intended so they won’t be hesitant to help others again, since people like him ruin things like that in the world, he told us no, we couldn’t stay, not only no, but that he refunded the money, and that is a LIE. PAT does not deserve to have a position of power, or any position for that matter. Zero...
Read moreNever have I left reviews, let alone a negative review on anything, but here we go…
Upon check in, they said there were no handicap rooms at all on the first floor, but there were some on the first floor—could’ve at least said they were booked (okay, sure, fine—not picking the communication/understanding). I asked for a double bed at least, as I was traveling with my father (who’s handicapped) and was given a single bed. I slept on a foam pad so my disabled father could be comfortable. They had a small blanket available, and no extra pillows. Over all though, front desk female was great despite the bedroom assignment and tried to help as much as possible with all my questions, and everyone else’s and their stuff. As I was walking about & becoming familiar with the location, she’d help everyone. I think she even tried to help hunt down someone who may have stolen their belongings from the laundry I think I heard in passing as they spoke to one another in the hall. However, the facilities and guests on the other hand… let me count the ways…
The hot water for the shower was either lukewarm, or scalding hot at first. You’d have to spin the shower knob like an old locker combo to get a good temp—a full 360, back 25, forward another 10* over the first minute or two as the shower runs. Soap residue in the tub, or it was stain marks left over from previous folks. Burn marks from previous guests all over the bathroom (counter, toilet, tub). Bathroom had no fan to vent out the moisture from the shower. The room was musty due to the accumulation of moisture. The curtains had mildew on them. The AC leaked as well, used a towel to continually clean it up. Needless to say, I did the best I could to try and lessen the moisture in the room. Opened the window far as one could and try to get air circulation to decrease it.
Stain on the window sill cushion when we walked in. Hallway of the hotel smelt of weed and mildew, and hallway carpets haven’t been cleaned in forever…
Folks continually yelling, pounding on doors, outside drinking or smoking. I woke nearly every hour.
They need a few maintenance men on hand, and more detailed housekeeping, and an over haul of their cleaning schedule on “detailed” items, wouldn’t be too terrible. Also, dehumidifiers and O-Zone scrubber machines running to help remove or lessen the smell of everything while under maintenance, daily or scheduled deep cleaning, wouldn’t be so bad. It’d be maintained due to the inconsiderate guests.
0/5 stars for facility. 4/5 for the lady at the front trying to hold down the fort and keep her sanity. But for a crackhead or frat house party it’d be a 5/5 I suppose.
PS: only available laundry is on the third floor, $2 per machine, total of $4 in quarters. Also, there’s only one washer and one dryer. Best bet you’re gonna wanna sit there and watch you’re clothes get washed and dried before they walk away with someone if...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I’ve only ever given one other review in my life, but this space was so terrible I had to warn others. DO NOT STAY HERE. We booked through Priceline and were extremely shocked at the how we were so catfished. The room was priced at $125 the night we stayed- not nearly the quality you’d expect for the price. Right away upon arrival we were suspicious of how many people were casually hanging out in the parking lot and STARING at us as we were parking. We arrived late night and were greeted by a friendly staff member. Then, the red flags kept coming: Room numbers on doors were half hand written STRONG cigarette stench. Heavily emphasized with no smoking signs on each door. Obviously not true at all. You could see the yellow stains on the walls. The DIRTIEST carpet I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m convinced any review left here vouching for cleanliness is purchased by the business itself. There’s no way any person could think this place is clean. Inside the room were cigarette stains all over the lightbulbs and walls. Mold, bugs, dust inside the HVAC, stains on the bedsheets, and stains all over the furniture and walls. The light/ ceiling fan in the restroom had a gaping hole above the shower that I was almost convinced there was a camera hidden in there. Won’t be shocked if there actually was. We decided to stay the night since it was already so late and are not high maintenance people. The last straw was finding bedbugs. Not to mention the walls were extremely thin we could hear our neighbor breathing and coughing. The screaming child down the hall didn’t help. I have a very bad impression of this place and its management. Clearly no integrity in...
