The room was disgusting. My son took a bath, then after we let him run barefoot in the room. When we put him to bed we noticed that the bottom of his feet were black. There were clods of dirt near the table, and I stepped in something sticky. After that we all wore shoes while in the room. The bathroom was horrendous. The grout in the tiles looked disgusting. The corners of the bathroom had a layer of dirt showing that it had not been cleaned properly.
Many things were broken or not working, including the GFCI outlet. The Hair dryer (1500w) that was mounted next to it tripped it every time. I tried using an appliance that drew 1200W, that would trip it too. The cord was not long enough to reach another outlet, so the hair dryer was not operational. The landline also did not work.
The towel rack in the bathroom was barely hanging onto the wall, it looked like it could fall off at any moment, of course it was also mounted above the toilet. I was hoping that it would not fall on my head anytime I had to use the restroom.
It was obvious that they did not hire a professional to do the repairs. I have no problem with DIYers (I am one myself) as long as the job is done the right way. The repairs were not done the right way. Anything that needed fixed had a line of caulk over it. In many cases, multiple lines of caulk.
They also did their own painting. It looked awful. I usually don't care about that, but on top of everything else... I feel like every corner had been cut.
Words cannot express how bad that bathroom looked. But I will say that I have been to nicer gas station bathrooms.
I realize that the EconoLodge is is a budget option. I still expect a room that is clean and in proper working order. I don't mind outdated, but disrepair is not satisfactory.
I will never go to this...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Where to start:
The person at check in was extremely rude and hateful. He "smelled" smoke on me he stated so he proceeded to lecture me about not smoking in the room I specifically reserved as NON SMOKING. I explained politely that I had no intentions of anyone smoking in the room yet he continued to rudely tell me to make sure there was no smoking. It was overkill and just uncomfortable. Also, he lectured me on how I "better not lose or throw away the keys". I had no use for the keys beyond my stay and even offered to bring them back upon check out and he told me no they could be left in the room, but again lectured me on how expensive the lock system was and that I had better not lose them. Then the air conditioning did not work - at all. We went and had to ask him to come with us to show him it was not working. His initial response was a shrug and saying they were booked so there was nothing he could do. We had gone and purchased a fan because it was miserably hot. He asked if we could just move the fan in front of the non-working a/c unit which is unacceptable. So he then agreed to have someone come and change out the unit. All they did was plug it in and it still did not work. We told him but he said he had done all he would do. This was the most miserable experience I have ever had...
Read moreThis is a good choice for someone looking to stay for business or passing through, especially if you are on a budget. Maybe not the very best choice of accommodations for families in need of amenities that are suited for groups or energetic children, or for "in room" vacations, etc. The room was clean, the shower was warm, amenities working, and the bed was comfortable. I felt safe and secure here. (These were the things that I personally needed) A few small things to keep in mind when staying here, as again, this might not be the right hotel for EVERY person, family, or occasion. The tub didn't drain well. The walls were VERY thin (could hear neighbors talking). However, things were fairly quiet during my stay (even while moderately booked) so it wasn't an issue for me. While checking out breakfast, I decided to pass on it (typical, basic, free continental style, and not terribly appetizing) and the coffee available was cold. However, for the price, and my needs, I would likely stay here again. Overall, I felt I did get my...
