I am rating this as a dasher. I go in to pick up an order that apparently someone else had already picked up. I wished that I hadn’t said anything and immediately contacted support. However without thinking I immediately said someone stole the order. There was 2 middle aged women there, not meaning anything by that, because I am middle aged, but one apparently didn’t think I knew what I was talking about. I didn’t start this yesterday and I currently have between 6 to 7 thousand dashes under my belt and could pull it up if need be. She said well it was on their phone. I said that doesn’t matter they can just unassign from it. She said perhaps they waited til they got to their car to confirm it. I said I am telling you what happened and they unassigned and stole the order. Then she said well perhaps y’all just passed each other. I said I am telling you the only way this order ended up on my phone is if they unassigned from it.
Once in a blue moon an order goes through twice, but they could have seen that in their system. Also once in a blue moon a person purposely places 2 orders to 2 different addresses, however if that was the case here, they did not try to figure that out!
Who do they think they are? I don’t come in there and act like they don’t know what they are talking about, and I will tell you that they made mistakes but that isn’t the only restaurant that doesn’t hand out orders right. About half of them do it right and the other half doesn’t. I work a restaurant part time myself. You are suppose to watch the dasher completely confirm the order and if you don’t they can unassign at any step along the way and it is like they never received the order. However they did receive free food. If any dasher gives an issue at being watched confirming the order completely out, they are dishonest and most likely plan on taking the order. There is no reason a honest dasher would object.
I am sitting here thinking about these 2 women, do y’all DoorDash? Who are you to act like that I don’t know what I am talking about? Is it because I am a man? Are you sexist? Women can be that way too! Or was the dasher a middle age wholesome looking women, the friendly type, and you can’t believe she would do that. I have met plenty of wholesome looking friendly women, who can play people like a fiddle. Whatever it was, there was no cause of there questioning what I said and treating me that way!
I called support and explained what happened. They had no argument about the order being stolen, because they know how it happens too and see it happen more than it should. I explained that I am just trying to do right by the customer, but the employees obviously want to argue. Support calls the store, I see one of the middle aged women pick up the phone. No, I couldn’t hear. However when support got back on the phone apparently Cracker Barrel was not going to remake the order! So DD cancelled it and paid me half the guaranteed amount!
I am just hoping the actual customer called and gave them a piece of their mind!
I hope management sees this and lets their employees know that it isn’t their job to argue. In fact I don’t get paid to argue with them and if I would have caught myself in time I would not have said anything, but it never occurred to me that they would act like they know more than someone who has delivered between 6 to 7 thousand of these orders!
I wonder how long they have been on their job! Apparently not long enough, because someone played them like a fiddle! However for them to remake the order they would have actually had to admit that I did know what I was talking about, meaning their pride meant more to them than doing right by the customer.
I know DD, because I have been through this before, even though it is not their fault they have always with me repaid the store to remake the order. So I know they would have got paid again. They just did not want to admit that...
Read moreOrdered via the app to bring home for a New Eve Dinner. Got the email saying the order was confirmed and would be ready by 6:26 PM. Arrived and checked in at 6:20 PM. By 6:40 PM still no food. No worker coming out to say hey we're sorry for the delay. Food finally came out after I called. Worker told me they were waiting on rolls and asked if I wanted to wait for them. I said yes. I ordered and paid for extra so yeah I'm going to wait for the food I paid for. While the worker was back inside I went through the bag. Didn't have the sides I ordered. Called back inside and told them. They said they would get the correct sides and be right out. Finally at 7:00 PM I went inside and walked up to the hostess. Had to wait for her to stop messing with her cell phone. Asked for a manager. She went and got the manager. Let me tell you this was the youngest restaurant manager possible who looked completely lost. He did apologize and said he would look into it. THE ONLY THING ANYONE DID RIGHT!! He goes in the back and pops right back out with my food. Drive home to find some of the worst food. Sausage, bacon, and sugar ham just thrown on top of my over easy eggs which were now busted and all over everything. The sugar ham was the same size as a strip of bacon. The hash brown casserole was burned. Worst of all... Since it took a freaking hour to get the food and get home everything was COLD. Now let me add these facts. It wasn't just my food. My wife ordered the same thing. All of hers was exactly the same. So I guess at least they are consistent with the level of crappy food and crappy service.
I'm sure someone is saying "Well maybe they were busy." Well you would be wrong. Parking lot mostly empty and like I said earlier. Hostess was on her phone and I walked right to her. I've never done that at any Cracker Barrel ever. I guess now I know why. Oh and the add insult to injury... And hour after eating my wife and I are both sick. Very thankful we have two bathrooms.
Worst experience ever at...
Read moreThis was a very unique experience, but not in a good way. The only good part about our experience was Lynsey(our friendly server), and Gingers(lead/mod?) attempt to keep the boat from sinking. We waited for about an hour and 10 minutes for our food to come out, and the worst part was the food wasn't even hot, and the chicken & dumplings entree choice I ordered was out. It was quite obvious Lynsey had no control over the kitchen being extremely short staffed or whatever reason it took so long. I felt Lynsey did a fantastic job trying her best with what she had. She was kind enough to bring out biscuits and corn bread after we'd been sitting there for an hour. She was also very attentive with making sure our drinks were always topped off. When the food came out, I was extremely disappointed with the quality and temperature. Of course I'm not the type of person to make a scene. Ginger made her way to our table, and I explained why I was returning my food after two bites. I told her I knew it wasn't either of their faults, but I just couldn't in good conscience to myself pay for cold food after waiting all this time. It was no longer about how long I waited anymore, but the quality result of the food after waiting that long. 3 of 4 people at our table all had barely warm meatloaf. Ginger was empathetic of the entire experience and I could tell she cared. She offered free desert since I canceled my order and sent the food back. She didn't want me to be hungry after all that waiting. How nice is that :-) Anyway, even with this terrible experience I still left the 20% tip because Lynsey & Ginger shouldn't be penalized for whatever happened in the kitchen. I only put 3 stars for the service because that's the average between 5 stars for the servers and 1 star for the kitchen crew. I've been to other locations in different states and know this was probably a one-off, but management should know and research how and what happened...
