I never leave reviews. Ever. I booked a 2 queen room online direct through IGH website. Upon check-in, the clerk presented me with a piece of paper to initial and sign with the details of the room. I noticed that the room type said “King with trundle”. I pointed it out to the clerk and she told me that’s what my reservation was booked as. I looked back at my confirmation email knowing that I booked two queens. To my surprise, it pulled up and showed a king bed with pull out trundle. This baffled me because, again, I was sure I had booked a double Queen. I asked if there were any Queen rooms available and she said there were not. Reluctantly, I said we would make it work and checked in. Later, I found the screenshot of my confirmation that clearly stated the confirmation number along with 2 queen beds. Unfortunately, this was no use as there were apparently no queen beds available at all. I don’t know if this is a system error or just straight up dishonesty on the part of IGH. It has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and will factor into my decision when it’s time to book a room again. Aside from those issues, the overall stay left much to be desired when compared with other IGH properties I’ve stayed at. The room was clean. The rest of the property seemed neglected. This hotel is only a couple years old, yet aspects of it would lead the guest to believe that it’s much older. There seems to be a lack of attention to detail. I don’t believe that “covid restrictions” play a part in the restaurant being closed and no breakfast options offered whatsoever. The lady working the front desk at check in around 3:00 pm was nice but it appeared may have been the only employee in the building at that time. The outdoor seating/gathering area was expansive but not inviting. The entire area was dirty and littered with trash and cigarette butts. There was a flat screen TV outside that wasn’t working. The property next door is in a state of disrepair and the pool and pool house (next door) are abandoned and a real eyesore. I understand this isn’t necessarily their fault but it nonetheless puts a damper on the outdoor space. On the way out the next morning, I dropped my keys in the drop box which is right at the front desk. Two employees were completely silent as I left the hotel. Overall, not what I’ve come to expect from the Holiday Inn brand. Definitely would not stay at this location again and I hope this review gets seen by corporate as this particular location doesn’t meet the standards of...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars, I would. There’s no communication between staff and guests. Upon arriving, my best friend and I received our room keys, went up, and we were delighted by the appearance. The only complaint about the room was a tad bit of the wallpaper was peeling off. Otherwise, beautiful room, beautiful view, beautiful first impression of the state I had never visited. We left to visit family, arrived back to the hotel around 9:30pm-9:40pm, and asked about the pool. They told us it closed at 10pm, but if we were quick, they’d keep it open until 10pm, so we could at least dip our feet. It was something we were looking forward to, after the five hour drive we just pulled. We went to our room to change, came back down (not even five minutes later), but when we had walked out to the pool, the gate was locked, and the door to re-enter the hotel was locked. We were thankful there were other guests in view, so we could be let back in. But didn’t the staff just tell us they’d keep it open for us for a few minutes? It wasn’t even 10 yet. Fast forward to the next morning, we’re stoked for breakfast, set an alarm, wake up bright and early, only to be greeted with no breakfast? Because there’s not enough workers? Why didn’t anyone tell us this when we arrived? Who doesn’t go to a hotel for the pool and the breakfast? Inconvenient, and if that was the case, we could have saved our money and stayed elsewhere. We had even asked to stay a second night after the pool incident! After finding out about the lack of breakfast, we decided to cancel the second night, and we made it out of that disappointment before they could charge us for a second night.
Speaking of money, they informed us of the $50 hold on the account. What they didn’t tell us was the remainder charge would happen over night. We believed the remainder would be charged at checkout. When we asked the staff, who was also not in the best mood, we were given the runaround, and weren’t given any proper answers until I called to ask, and the man who answered the phone explained it to me in a way we would understand, instead of being vague and letting us assume something different.
When making trips out of state and staying somewhere other than home, I’d expect better from businesses who are supposed to want you...

What we experienced the next day at the on-site breakfast restaurant was totally the opposite.
There was as staff member cleaning and stocking the market pantry in the lobby. They seemed to be ignoring family members who simply wanted to know where to enter for breakfast because there was no one at the host station of the restaurant just feet away.
She finally directed us to go in, have a seat and someone would come out. So we did, as did another group who also seemed to be curiously wondering where they were to go.
When the guy finally did show up he was furious, extremely rude and did not greet or welcome anyone but instead his first words were "It's 9:30, I close at 10:00 and don't normally take care of customers this late".
He placed the menus on both tables and walked away before we could ask any questions or order beverages or water.
When he finally came back some 10 or so minutes later he asked for our orders then said "Oh I'm only making 2 items” which were the Inn-Joyable Breakfast and one other one which I don't recall what it was. This would have been very helpful to know up front.
So we placed our order and he disappeared again for some time and finally came back, but did not bring condiments, drinks- not even water before disappearing once again. He just put plates on the table and again walked away before we could talk to him.
My job and family bring me on the road quite often and Holiday Inn (IHG) is always my first pick.
Having stayed at probably 100's across America over the years this is absolutely the worst experience I can remember.
Simply put "Dude if you don't like your job- get another one and leave this one for someone who wants it and is willing to do it".
We’ll be choosing another property...
