First off, we loved the location and stayed at this particular hotel a few years ago. It was great. This time, however, is a different story. For the price we paid for 2 rooms, we had requested adjoining rooms since we have 5 adult family members staying. We didn't want to have half of our party going back and forth to separate rooms when wanting to spend time together. We were not accommodated with that, but the rooms were at least on the same floor. The manager was pleasant when we checked in, although throughout the stay, it was as if she did not want to be there. Annoyed when asked for help, that was the first thing that made the stay unpleasant. It took a long time to get help at the front desk when there wasn't someone already there. The housekeepers we saw in the mornings were very friendly. Asking how we were and if we needed anything. In both rooms, the tubs took a long time to drain and had an awkward dip in the middle. Made it hard to stand to shower and uncomfortable for baths. When showering, water would fill the tub over my feet because of slow draining as well. The rooms felt sticky, granted this area can be quite humid, so not entirely the hotels fault. A member of our party got hurt during the stay and couldn't walk, we had asked if there was possibly an accessible room available for easier wheelchair access, after seeing many people checking out, we were told everything was booked. We had also called down to ask if some extra pillows could be taken to the room to help elevate our family members' legs, and we were told, "If you need them, come get them yourself." We stayed on the 2nd floor, and on Saturday evening, the elevator was broken, and even though it was fixed by 9 or so Sunday morning, it was still hard to take with the noise it made as it stopped at the 2nd floor. In one room, the beds were comfortable. In the second room, they were a bit too hard to sleep on. I believe that if we travel to this area again, we will be looking for a different place to stay. Overall, we had some high expectations from our previous visit, and they were diminished...
Read morePersonally thought the hotel was dated and in need of a complete face lift and if nothing else some serious maintenance. Our first room was noisy from what sound like a wrestling match on the floor above us. The toilet ran constantly and my wife had to reach into the toilet tank to rehook the flapper chain because it would not flush, not to mention the bathroom door would not close. After repeated rehooking of the chain, we reported the problem, which resulted in them moving us to another room because they had no maintenance staff on hand to address the problem. The next room had it's issues too, but at this point we were exhausted of moving from one hotel to the next, (whole nether story) and one room to the next that we just dealt with the filthy carpet and less than neatly made beds. Now for the dated part of my review. How long has it had to been since hotels started installing elongated toilets? Well I'd venture to say at least ten years, this one had the old 12" out house style toilet. The towel rack next to the shower was being held up by the wallpaper, which I'm sure we would have been blamed for if it had come off. Moisture swelled painted over bathroom doors, stained and dated carpet in the room and hallways. The elevator door had some peeling white film on it and sounded so rough that it didn't sound safe to ride. Me being disabled, I had no choice but to ride it, the kids on the other hand used the stairs. The three legged breakfast table we sat at had a leg that had to be at least a 1/2" shorter than the others and I came dangerously close to dumping my coffee in my lap. The breakfast food and coffee ran out long before everyone had went through and I ended up with some tea like coffee for breakfast. Guess I'm doing Mickey D's today. Needless to say my wallet was over a $175 lighter and I feel cheated of a fair...
Read moreWe DO NOT recommend this Hilton Honors Hampton Inn Hotel. It is a stain on their good name. We would like to say it was a fluke and it will never happen again, but it appears this Hotel is hurting and it has been in a tail spin since 2018. We have stayed here before (prior to recent renovation) thought we would give them another chance. We recalled the food being fantastic because they had an attendant who cared about their guests. This Hotel currently has one attending employees at front desk at all times, the one lady who was to leave after her shift saw the problems in the breakfast area and stepped up to try and make things right...she made it much better for the other guests after fixing the electric shafer. These two employees were embarrassed and helpful to their limits.
What happened to us and to the other guests this time is uncalled for. As an owner, you would think they would get the right help to clean and maintain their building to protect guests from getting upset or sick, especially during COVID. We were disgusted and dissatisfied. You would expect sanitized or at least clean rooms from previous guests. Our room was sticky, all surfaces had oil and finger prints, it was dirty, everything was bad. The bed was not properly made sheets shuffled under coverlet, the dirty tub stopper was left on top of tank lid of commode and the drain was full of debris and paper ( clogging it). The toilet did not flush - you had to hold handle down to flush, the door to the room does not close on it's own. The were not changed and old soap rotting on shower shelf. It took me 1 hour to sanitize my room in order for me to stay in there.
There was NO Hot or Fresh Breakfast, just like advertised...
This Hilton Honors Hotel needs to be shut down until they have met the requirements of a 4...
