I Went today with my friend and he got us dinner and we ordered the El Toro Loco Steak Burrito Platter.We both ordered the beans and rice with it but ipon receiving the platters, we did not see any refried beans ir rice except in the burrito. It did come with sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes, lettuce, and was topped with this delicious creamy cheese sauce. The burrito was good but the steak was kind of chewy for my liking and I would have to recommend the chicken one imstead. The waiter was super friendy and came to make sure our drinks were full and if we needed anything. He also spoke very clear English which was a plus. Everything was good but when I do go back, which I will, I am going to make sure the refried beans and rice come with the meal on the side cause it made the platter look smaller. EL Toro Loco was very pleasant to eat at and I still do recommend this establishment as of November 13th, 2024.
Love every bit of El Toro Loco and its atmosphere located at the Beautiful Legends in KansasCity Kansas. I ate here with my friend and got the grilled shrimp fried chimichunga smothered with creamy cheese sauce. I chose the refried beans and rice for the sides and it was delicious. I wish there would of been more beans and rice for the sides but it was still filling. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. I did ask for my soda to be in a to go cup but I don't think she understood what I meant due to being of Latina decent. Her English was still pretty good though and she made the meal more authentic. This place is definitely worth checking out and I will be returning soon when I crave authentic Mexican food that's beyond amazing to the pallete. 5 stars...
Read moreI work at a Mexican restaurant myself, and so does my boyfriend. We decided to give this place a try bc it was recommended to us by some friends. Our server was alright. I ordered a plain bean and cheese burrito with rice a beans, and a bean and cheese tostada. I clarified that I only wanted beans and cheese on the tostada. I’m sure you can see where this is going. Burrito platter comes out fine, but with red sauce on top. Maybe I didn’t specify that I wanted it plain, but that’s fine. Tostada came with lettuce and tomato. I know that I said beans and cheese only, but that’s fine. Took 10 minutes for waiter to come back and get it fixed but again that’s fine I work in a restaurant it happens. Took a bite of my food once it was correct, and instant regret. It was nasty…how do you mess up refried beans and a tortilla? No flavor. My bf ordered street tacos. No flavor, meat had a weird taste, and wasn’t very warm. The corn tortilla for my tostada was also soggy as hell, I could pull it apart with my fingers like wet paper. Our bill was $60 which is outrageous for far worse than mediocre food. I considered saying something because didn’t feel I should have to pay for food we barely touched. We decided to just pay, and move on. We felt everyone staring at us from the moment we walked in, probably because we are young parents with a baby. Some people may think we won’t tip well. Read moreThis restaurant and it's employees don't understand that very poor customer service and hateful attitudes will run you out of business. I live nearby and just moved into the area and frequented this restaurant. The employee that served me the last carryout order decided to lack consideration and customer service and not honor my request. I order each and everytime a considerate amount of food for a family of 5 and spend a pricey amount. The server refuses to give me the appropriate amount of sauce with such a large order for carry out. I addressed I needed more sauce with a large order he decides to argue with me as a spending customer and refuses. I advised him that I order each week a large amount and he basically didn't care and responded this all I can give you which is 3 small sauces. I advised him I would not return and he stated he didn't care if I didn't return. I suppose he doesn't have a grip that if you take care of the customer they will take care of you. I would tell ten people how great the food and customer service is and now I have to resort to not giving them a great review which enlightens thousands of people of their poor service. People want to spend their hard earned money with restaurants that take care of the customer and foster lasting relationships especially spending a pretty penny. I hope that management reads this review because I will never spend money there again because the employees are too inconsiderate and there are too many other Mexican restaurant gems that I frequent in other parts...
