La Michoacana Supermarket — Local services in Katy

The store was very clean, which is a super plus, as I tend to run across a few other Michoacanas that start off that way and end up looking questionable after awhile. There is another reviewer that shows the cleanliness and organization of this store through their uploaded pictures. All the people were super nice, patient, and informative of the dishes they were serving over at what I make out to be the food court. I ordered tacos, one of al pastor and another with red chicharron and they were delicious. I also ordered Caldo de Res which was good but was missing something... my Wife's recipe is way better but it may be I'm being a little too critical here. But I digress... to recap, good food, nice folks, clean store, no clutter, equals a 4.5 star rating. On another note, this store should be the standard for those other Michoacanas. I recently visited the new La Michoacana location on Mason Road for breakfast with my family, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We arrived 20 minutes before 10 AM, only to be told that breakfast service had ended and they were transitioning to lunch. After mentioning that it was our first time visiting and that we had specifically come for breakfast, one of the employees checked with the kitchen manager, who approved our order.

However, the kitchen staff seemed very disorganized. Despite placing our order promptly, we were skipped, and several customers who arrived after us were served first. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, the dishes were dry, lacked flavor, and were missing key ingredients like cream on the enchiladas. The presentation was also unappealing.

On a positive note, the grocery store itself is very clean and well-organized, with friendly employees throughout. The highlight of our visit was the cheesecake and coffee, which were both excellent.

While I have enjoyed lunch at other La Michoacana locations in the past, this particular breakfast experience was disappointing, and I’m not sure I would return for breakfast again.

Recientemente visité la nueva ubicación de La Michoacana en Mason Road para desayunar con mi familia y, lamentablemente, la experiencia fue decepcionante. Llegamos 20 minutos antes de las 10 AM y nos informaron que el servicio de desayuno había terminado y que estaban comenzando con el almuerzo. Mencionamos que era nuestra primera visita y que habíamos venido específicamente para desayunar, por lo que uno de los empleados consultó con el encargado de la cocina, quien aprobó nuestro pedido.

Sin embargo, el personal de cocina parecía muy desorganizado. A pesar de haber realizado nuestro pedido a tiempo, nos ignoraron y atendieron a varios clientes que llegaron después que nosotros. Terminamos esperando más de 30 minutos para recibir nuestra comida. Cuando finalmente nos sirvieron, los platillos estaban secos, sin sabor y faltaban ingredientes esenciales, como la crema en las enchiladas. Además, la presentación dejaba mucho que desear.

Por otro lado, la tienda de abarrotes está muy limpia y bien organizada, y el personal en general es muy amable. Lo mejor de nuestra visita fue el cheesecake y el café, que estaban excelentes.

Aunque he disfrutado del almuerzo en otras ubicaciones de La Michoacana en el pasado, esta experiencia con el desayuno fue decepcionante, y no estoy segura de que...

Thay store is super nice and clean , people are very nice and attentive,HOWEVER I have to say and hope this Cath their attention. The people that they have cooking the food or serving it, are NOT the best to do that, I don't know where they from maybe Venezuela? Anyway, besides they are nice of course the flavor " sazon" and way to serve the food is not there, perhaps if they serve Mexican food they should make sure they have a Mexican cook ? And...
