We’ve been fortunate enough to visit this beautiful place every year, sometimes even twice a year, for the past 20 years, as our parents are owners. For us, it has always been a place of relaxation, where we can fully embrace the aloha spirit and island vibes.||However, in recent years, we’ve noticed some changes that have impacted the overall experience. With the facility now renting units through various channels beyond timeshare ownership (and social media sites like TripAdvisor or yelp showing reviews) the atmosphere has shifted. Increasingly, each visit feels less like the tranquil escape it once was and more like a spring break destination. Groups at the pool are often loud and disruptive, bringing oversized floaters and showing little regard for the laid-back culture or consideration for others. Children frequently run around the pool and hot tub areas unsupervised, and quiet hours are often ignored.||Additionally, the local rooster population has become increasingly disruptive, with crowing starting as early as 12:30 a.m. and continuing throughout the morning, and sometimes all day. While we don’t mind the lack of air conditioning, as it's generally not needed on the island, we’ve noticed an uptick in flies and bugs. This may be connected to the growing population of feral cats, which seem to be reducing the number of lizards and geckos that normally help keep insects in check.||Staff are friendly, sweet and very helpful. We continue to cherish this place and want to see it preserved as the peaceful, welcoming retreat it has always been. We hope these observations can help in maintaining the unique spirit and environment that make this place so special. If the resort is looking to shift from Kauai island vibes to more Oahu, Cancun vibes that’s fine, I just think it will end up losing all its owners- who initially bought and have invested in...
Read moreMy favorite place to stay so far of all the resorts on every island! The Beach house restaurant is across the street and there is the best shaved ice stand right in front. The grounds are beautiful and the staff goes out of their way for even the smallest of requests. The gardener gave me a fresh dragon fruit that grows on property! The rooftop patio was so beautiful with the fire pit and spectacular views of the sea and sky. I loved the pool with waterfalls and rocks, was so nice and swimming or relaxing in the hot tub was such a pleasure! The thousands of birds who roost in the trees over night was incredible to watch as they left every morning and returned at sunset. The beaches and parks are spectacular! Our room was perfect and could see the pool and the beach. I love having a full kitchen and washer and dryer! The views from our balcony were amazing! We watched a surf contest! There is also bathrooms and showers by the shaved ice stand too so you can rinse the sand off. The organic puréed fruit on the shaved ice was the best I have ever tasted and the owner was so kind and friendly! Out of the 13 resorts on every island I have had the pleasure of staying at, Lawai Beach resort is now my favorite and I will absolutely stay there again. The south side is not as crowded as Kapaa or Princeville. The weather was perfect in August and we rented an air conditioning unit but really did not need it. I highly recommend this resort! It is close to Port Allen for sunset cruises or smirking adventures, you can walk to spouting horn and botanical Gardens and there is a huge shopping center very close and none of the traffic you find heading from Lihue to...
Read moreThe view and accomodations were amazing. We could literally walk across the street and be on Lawai beach and snorkel with the rentals we had from the shop right there! The rating is a little lower due to our experience with the staff. The front desk lady was a little blunt and rude when we questioned how the textiles were laundered (skin allergy to fragrances/dyes/perfumes/detergents/fabric softeners/etc.). We had travelled in from Colorado, USA for our honeymoon and she told us that we should bring our own sheets when we travel internationally. I rebuttal this by stating that HI is part of the USA and most hotels and resorts in the USA use hypoallergenic detergents to avoid such issues as this. She said they could not launder the blankets, sheets, and towels in anything different due to their machine restrictions and that we would have to launder them ourselves if we could even find a detergent on the island that was safe for us to use (there is a compact stack washer/dryer machine in each unit). I understand the imports are greatly limited in HI for many reasons and did not expect much, but the first night of our honeymoon was spent sleeping on the floor with our clothes as blankets since we had to wait till the next morning to go shopping for safe detergent to use. There was no apology made or offer of compensation or concern from the lady and honestly she did act like it was our fault. Besides the issue with the textiles and her, the resort was a great place to relax and enjoy HI due to its accessibility to local...
