Poipu Beach Surf Song — Hotel in Kauai

This house is incredible! The only bad thing about it is it's hard to leave the covered lanai to go do things because the view is spectacular! We sat there for hours drinking wine and watching the whales breach and do side fin slaps (don't know the actual term for this). It sits at the end of the road on a cul de sac so there's not a lot of traffic. The house is stocked with pots and pans and even has plenty of spices. We shopped at Foodland which is about a 5 minute drive from the house. If you give them your phone number and sign up for their "card" you will get a huge discount off every purchase. Because of all this we saved a bunch of money on food, beer and wine. The house also has a bunch of toys to use....surf boards, boogie boards, a ping pong table, beach chairs, bamboo beach blankets, bikes, fishing poles, etc. That makes it nice too. We stayed in the room with the outdoor shower. That was very cool although we did have one day where the neighbor appeared to be interested, but other than that listening to the waves crashing all night was so nice. There are also many board games, playing cards, etc to keep you occupied too. The location and view are perfect. Your only about 20 minutes from Hanelei Bay Beach.....voted the most beautiful beach in the world in 2009 and I see why! it's about 10 minutes from the Princeville Airport where you can take a Blue Hawaiin helicopter tour (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!) It costs almost $300 per person but I would do it again! It's a bit of a pain to get to the south side of the island from Princeville due to the constant traffic jamb in Kappa, but take the bypass and save a little time. Simon checked in on us about half way through the vacation to make sure everything was going well. We also got fresh fish at the fish market near the airport and grilled it on the grill.....Amazing meal! Fresh Ahi tuna and Ono. The little bay just below the house is a great place to snorkel and layout too....there's a little hike to get to it, but it's so cool! If you're on the fence about this house just know it's a great house! Because of the savings at Foodland and cooking our own meals we only spend $340/couple on our vacation for food and drinks! That saved us a ton of money and we all enjoyed that time together. I highly recommend this...

This is the best deal on the best Hawaiian island. The location is superb. IT is right across the street from Poipu beach. The sunsets are beautiful. It is also very close to delicious restaurants. The room is a great size, extremely clean and with a very large bathroom. The hosts couldn't make you feel more welcomed. I would stay here in a heartbeat. I've traveled a lot and this is one of the best deals I have ever found. It is across the street from the beach so you can hear the ocean at night. Yes there are a couple little things like some rust spots on the fridge door,so what. The whole place was clean lilla does a great job of cleaning and is very helpful. You are only steps from baby beach and you can walk to 3 great snorkeling in 5 minutes. To cook there is everything you need we used the gas grill every night. We saw whales every night from the Lanai. There was lots of room.Excellent air flow through the place. It might not be for everyone but then go somewhere else and be prepared to pay twice or more. I'd have no hesitation about staying here again if nothing else to enjoy the fruit trees in the back. Phyllis is a pleasure...
