Really loved the food and friendly service here. The resident rooster was also entertaining. The staff member shooed it away when it got too close to people which is good they cared about people’s comfort. The food for breakfast was delicious and filling. For the classic breakfast we got a large serving of fluffy hot scrambled eggs, American style bacon strips, potato and onion mix, one slice of toast, butter and a little satchel of jam. The food came out quickly, although we came mid week so I can imagine on a weekend it would be busy. Wish we had come here sooner for breakfast as it was better than our resort’s big breakfast. The breakfast is available until 3pm which is awesome and it’s not too expensive either. They also serve lunch, dinner, drinks, and bakery style here too and there’s a cute mini mart inside with groceries and gifts inside. Tried their white chocolate macadamia nut cookie from the cabinet inside which was huge (the size of my hand) and tasted ok. Not sure when it was baked or how fresh the bakery goods are there as I can’t imagine they turn them over daily. Could definitely taste the sugar in it. Definitely able to share the bakery items are they are generous in size. So many tables to sit at for the restaurant and there’s few out the back for the bakery side. Highly recommend!

Had lunch here Sunday, 17 SEP 21 (even though google maps says permanently closed, they reopened under new management 2 weeks ago). We ordered the Go Home Eugene drink (tequila, aperol, Liliko’I, yum mines) and a local beer. A totally wrong drink came out which our server realized immediately – but he left the wrong drink and still brought me the one I ordered. The wrong drink was something-Eyeore. Both were delicious! Husband had the Cuban sandwich which was local kualoa pork and delicious. I had the ahi wrap – which was tasty but I think I will just get the poke next time (because there WILL be a next time) because the other ingredients drowned out the flavor of the ahi. To be fair, our server did try to tell me this but I wanted to try something other than poke since I eat that a lot. Don’t remember out server’s name but he was awesome – and so were all the other staff. If you want to support local and eat healthy, unique foods – this is the place. Can’t wait to come here again. Bonus! We found Amaro - an Italian digestif we had been looking for on Oahu where we live but we couldn’t find it!

We stopped into Living Foods a couple of times during our stay—once for breakfast and once for lunch. For breakfast, I ordered the chicken and waffles (a favorite of mine whenever I see it on the menu). The fryer wasn’t up and running yet when we arrived around 9am, so we had to walk around the plaza and come back at 9:39 to place the order. Once ready, it was worth the wait. My husband had the loco moco, which he really enjoyed. On a previous visit for lunch, my husband ordered the smash burger with fries (note: fries are separate—sandwiches come with coleslaw by default), and I went with the ahi BLT. Both were fresh, flavorful, and nicely done. Overall, Living Foods has a nice variety and everything we tried felt fresh and well-prepared. A solid choice whether you’re stopping in for breakfast or lunch.

Lovely late evening dinner and solid grocery selection. We've had trouble finding anything of this caliber past 7 PM at a reasonable price. The pricing for entrees is comparable to many off-resort places in the area and casual resort restaurants, but the quality and flavors are far ahead. There are no generic Sysco reheated foods on the menu here.

We split the Taro burger and fish sandwich. Both were outstanding.

The taro burger itself was crispy, well seasoned and full of flavor complimented by some of the normal burger toppings: pickles (delicious, maybe house made?), ripe tomatoes, fresh, delicate lettuce, and a really good sauce.

Fish sandwich today included perfectly cooked Mahi Mahi, best fish we've had this trip, another great sauce with bright vinegar forward flavor and a ripe tomato slice.

Both sandwiches had great buns. I'm a bread lover, and these were fantastic. Great texture for sandwiches, good flavor but not overpowering.

Both sandwiches came with a side of sesame oil based slaw that could have just been left off the plate, but some might enjoy it. Could use some acidity, but it wasn't bad, just not special.

Cookies for dessert were tasty. Fun flavors, good texture and bake.

Higher pricing in the grocery store section than Safeway/standard grocers but far better quality and selection than nearby markets for the same cost. Wide array of 'healthier' foods and snacks, vegetarian foods, produce, and snacks. Meat and seafood counters looked fresh and fairly locally sourced (didn't look too closely.)

Definitely stop by for a meal, but good place to stock up for a nice dinner, breads, a few bottles of good wine or a cheese and charcuterie plate.

Maybe not the best pricing or selection for basics like seasoning, peanut butter, ect, but otherwise highly...

I was researching health food stores before visiting Kauai and found a website for the Living Foods Market. I called the number to ask a few questions and the phone number on the website went straight to the owners cell phone. He sounded very perturbed that I was calling and was irritated I called his personal cell phone. I let him know he posted the number on his website and it was the only number I could find. He wasn't very helpful. I went to the market anyway upon arriving in Poipu and his employees were rude as well. One employee completely cut me off mid sentence when I was trying to place an order, he had a very inconsiderate demeanor. The Living Foods website says they have the largest selection of produce and I did not find that at all. I have been to many health food stores and the Living Foods Market has the smallest amount of produce out of any of them. They have a limited amount of produce, they have very few items for dairy replacements if you are lactose intolerant. They have an extremely small bulk section, and are lacking variety in general. It is basically a very small wanna be Whole Foods Market with a deli and large wine department. If you want a wide variety of produce, bulk, and health food, just drive to Papayas Health Food in Kapaa. They have so many more local products, and the employees there are actually nice. It is a bit of drive but there are plenty of places to swim or sight see along the way and the store is worth it. I will not be going back to the Living Foods Market and I don't...

Great concept. Horrible service, mediocre food. Place was 90% empty and it was open seating. We had a party of 4 with a young kid so we sat in the far back corner near the bussing station (not exactly prime time seating). Service was beyond slow from the beginning to the end and it took until the very end to find out why. Server was more interested in talking about NBA playoffs with his co-worker than serving us. He also took about a 10 minute bathroom break at some point. When we were finally able to check out an actual check was not presented. I had to ask about tip and that is where it went from bad to worse. I'm a heavy tipper but to my surprise the server threw an auto 20% tip because on the bill because our table because it had exactly 5 seats when we only had 4 guests. He couldn't complete a full sentence when I called him out on not saying a word upfront and how we would have literally sat at the open 4 seater table next to us or anywhere else in the restaurant if that was the case. It was deceptive and shady to say the least and is probably why the service was so bad - because no matter what he was getting his auto 20% tip. There are much better places to go in the area for food and service. I wouldn't waste your time or money here. I sent a basic text to the restaurant about the situation and didn't receive any response . They...
