The below is an email I sent to the hotel, a few days after we stayed there, and responding to an email they sent me. To this day, I never received a response to any of my comments or a refund for the double charge at the bar. I tried to do a fair review, so you can make your own conclusions from my correspondence with them. I will not go back there. I hope that by sharing my email you have a better idea.||||Hi Josh,||||Instead of a review, that may be perceived as negative, I am sending an email with some feedback, because I have been at your hotel several times and I like it there; however, there are a couple of things that I'd like to mention.||||When I booked my reservation online on your website, I also sent an email asking about the 10% discount on returning guests. No one ever responded and I did not receive the discount. This is the 3rd time in less than a year that we have stayed in Apartment #2. Prior to that, we stayed in Apt # 1 and in the downstairs room right behind the bar. As you can see we have been returning guests for quite some time.||||The toilet in apartment #2 is almost like a 'baby toilet', it is very low and very small and uncomfortable. The toilet seat is so small that I had to sit directly on the bowl, because there was no room for me to sit comfortably on it. It is pretty common to have an elongated toilet these days in hotels. You can find them for a very inexpensive price, like $150, with water saving features.||||The water pressure on the shower is extremely low, there are shower heads that increase pressure and also save water that make you feel much better when taking a shower.||||There's nothing covering the windows to provide a bit of darkness in the morning. When you want to sleep in, as often happens when on vacation, it is impossible with the regular mini blinds you have there.||||As I was looking under the bed to get one of my shoes out, I noticed how dirty it is right under it, looks it hasn't been cleaned for quite some time. All that dust gets in the air with the AC and we breathe that when sleeping. Had I noticed it before, I would have mentioned it to the guys cleaning, but I noticed it on my way out.||||Regarding the bar, your bartenders are very nice and efficient. Love it there. The music playlist could be better as it plays again and again all day long, and it is not very diverse, mostly 80's music, which I like, but there's so many times in a day that you would like to listen to Michael Jackson's "Beat it".||||Finally, I reported with the front desk at check out that we consumed a club soda from the fridge, and we were charged $8. That was the only thing we took and I don't think it would cost $8. Also, there's a double charge of $43 on April 5 from the Bar.||||These may seem like a lot of complaints, but honestly, I noticed some of these on prior trips and didn't say anything. I chose to write instead of doing a review that may be perceived as coming from an angry customer. I hope to continue coming and staying with you, as this is one of the places we like the most in Key West.||||Thank...

Read moreArrival & Check-In I rolled in late—after the office had closed—but had zero issues getting into my room. The evening bartender greeted me with a smile, handed over my keys, and pointed me toward my cozy courtyard hideaway. It was seamless and stress-free.
Location You simply can’t beat being right on Duval Street. From lively bars and galleries to must-see attractions, everything’s just steps away. Yet behind the vibrant façade lies a lush, tranquil courtyard that instantly melts the noise away. And when you want a change of scenery, the downstairs bar offers a more intimate spot for drinks.
Room & Comfort My room was a dream: a queen-size bed that felt incredibly comfy, a kitchenette for late-night snacks, and a private patio overlooking the courtyard pool. They also offer handicap-accessible rooms, ensuring every guest can enjoy this paradise. Coming back here each evening felt like returning to a personal island retreat.
Pool & Bar Scene The courtyard pool is hands-down the highlight. Lounging under swaying palms or cooling off in the waterfall pool felt like pure bliss. For live music, the downstairs bar is a perfect fallback.
Breakfast & Amenities Continental breakfast starts at 8 AM and includes fresh fruit, bagels, pastries, and strong coffee—just enough to fuel island adventures. Free Wi-Fi kept me connected, and the small gym was a nice bonus.
Parking & Convenience If you’re driving in, there’s paid parking overnight parking right next to the hotel. On weekends, I also scored free street parking by the courthouse with zero hassle.
Standout Service Steven at the front desk deserves special mention—always friendly, quick with recommendations, and genuinely invested in making my stay great. His local tips from upcoming events to the best catamarian cruise, made all the difference.
New Orleans House nails the balance between Duval Street excitement and a laid-back island oasis. With seamless late-night check-in, Steven’s thoughtful service, killer poolside vibes, handicap-accessible rooms, smart parking tips, and a cozy downstairs bar, this place feels both personal and fun. If you’re planning a Key West getaway, this is your spot.
“Absolutely the best place in Key West—effortless late-night check-in and that poolside mojito alone are worth the trip.”
