The Good: I'm going to start this review by saying that I'm really torn by this hotel stay. I really wanted to like it, but there were too many little things I didn't like. So, on to the review. The room was comfortable at night. The bed was very comfortable, and the window blind was what I wish every hotel used because there was no light bleeding into the room from the window. I also liked the walk-in shower rather than a tub. The room was perfectly sized, and the arrangement of the room was great. Staff was pleasant, but nothing noteworthy. The location of the hotel was good being near a couple malls and the freeways. The Bad: Now for the little things. The neighborhood didn't feel safe at night. Can't say exactly what it was, but I would recommend driving rather than walking any great distance. The breakfast was one of the worst I've experienced at a Hampton Inn. I always take into account that it is free, but I actually didn't want to eat it the second day. Unfortunately, even the bag breakfast was terrible. At least it had a ripe banana and bottled water (no ice tea powder like the others I've had). The shower I mentioned looked like it had mold in the cracks and crevices, and there were large holes down by the base of the wall and door. Even though they had installed strips on the bottom of the doors (I'm assuming to block out light as this is a common problem), there was still a significant amount of light leaking into the room. One of my biggest pet peeves is a microwave with a bright clock that can't be turned off or dimmed, and that forces me to find a way to block it out (pro tip: I carry sticky notes for this purpose). Finally, there were outlets in the base of the lamp next to the bed, but they were incredibly loose, and the cords kept falling out. Not sure what travelers do to sockets, but this is a common problem. The Ugly: Back to my difficulty rating this hotel, the important things were good, but there were too many little problems, and for that reason I would stay elsewhere if I had to visit...
Read moreI was very disappointed with the service I received on my last stay. I currently have gold status with this hotel chain, and have been a diamond for multiple years in the past, so I guess I have become spoiled and expect a certain degree of service. Even with this in mind, I still feel that service was below what the standard should be. We arrived to a cold freezing room that took about an hour to warm up (keep in mind that we had checked in using the app, so they knew that we were coming and when we were expected to arrive). We try to make the best out of the situation, so we try to warm up with a nice hot cup of chocolate, but we had no luck finding a cocoa package. The receptionist was too busy to help us with this and quickly provided an excuse that they were out of hot water. Not only was I not greeted with a welcome package nor was I thank for my loyalty, we were completely ignored. Well, things went downhill from there. The following day, the fire alarm went off at 4AM and the person in charge seemed to be over her head on what needed to be done. She could not provide any information or direction and instead diverted her attention to doing some work on the breakfast bar. Even after a second person arrived and took charge, we were only told that was a false alarm. This is after twenty minutes of waiting for some direction of what to do. The breakfast experience was not much better. Food was scarce and the attendant was justifying it but claiming that everyone came at the same time. I looked around and it was our party of two and another table with four people in the breakfast area. I wanted to discuss these issues with the manager before leaving the hotel, however, the desk person was on the telephone for over twenty minutes, so I decided to...
Read moreMy husband and I are members of the Hilton Honors program and we stay at Hampton Inn properties all the time. We have generally been satisfied; however, the one is the worst property we have ever stayed at. We had to move to three different rooms in one night. The rooms have major deferred maintenance and truly need a thorough cleaning. The first room had dog pee on the walls dripping onto the baseboards which appear to never have been cleaned. The walls were filthy and haven’t been wiped down in years. There was black hair in the corners of the bathroom and neither the shower or the sink would drain. We were given a second room which was a little better (not much) but there was a party going on down below us in the large meeting room. The music was so loud that our floor was vibrating. When we asked at 9:30PM how long the party would last they said they weren’t sure “maybe a few more hours or so”. They offered us a third room which was supposedly the “upgraded suite”. The bright orange sofa had a very large stain on one of the cushions and the desk chair also had stains. The toilet wasn’t working properly and each time we used it we had to take off the lid and fix it. Again in this room the baseboards were filthy with dirty walls and flecks of something hanging off. There is also a $15 parking fee out in the middle of nowhere so this is ridiculous!! This place is a dive and we will never stay here again. The owners of the Hilton properties should make a visit and check out whether or not they would have their own...
