I’m so bummed to report how much this place has gone downhill. It used to be our go to. By no means was it ever a 4 star hotel but for the price point a few years back, it did the trick. The prices the last few years have steadily increased (literally triple what we were paying a few years back) while quality and service have taken a nosedive.
Upon check in we were told our room was not ready, as were the people in front of us. (This also happened last year.) Neither of us were given any sort of apology, explanation or estimate as to when our room would be ready. Instead we were given a “that’s just the way things go during busy season” type of attitude. This is very disappointing when you’re already paying over $600 for one night in a very basic/ standard queen room and can’t check in until 3:00 and need to be out by 11:00. You tend to want to get every minute of what you have paid for.
I approached the check in with a much kinder, more positive attitude than the gentlemen in front of me, “hey no big deal. I understand these things happen. Would we by chance be able to get late checkout tomorrow at 12 instead of 11 to compensate for the late check- in?” The boys response at the front desk: “No, we don’t do that during busy season.”
Can someone explain to me why, if our hotel room is not even ready and still hasn’t been cleaned by 3:00 pm at check in, how it should effect any part of their cleaning process for us to check out at noon? Clearly they didn’t start cleaning our room anywhere close to noon.
This policy makes no sense and speaks to the way they aim to squeeze every dollar and minute out of their customers and take total advantage of the customer’s hard earned money and patronage.
Abysmal quality and service.
In the past we were willing to look past things like the watery powdered eggs and disgusting continental breakfast with not enough tables for hotel guests to sit. The tiny, overcrowded, dirty pool, and the old springy, uncomfortable mattresses with thin low quality blankets but this will definitely be our last year choosing the Hampton inn. It has the amenities and services of a low budget motel, charging 4 start hotel prices.
Not to mention whenever we pressed the front desk button on our phone- it called another hotel guest’s room! I woke this poor man up twice by pressing the “front desk” button on my phone.
Mind you, I had to call the front desk because despite our room not being ready at check in we had zero conditioner in our room, just an empty bottle.
Thank goodness doing a little more research for next year, we found a place located right in town, charging LESS money with pillow top mattresses, tons more amenities, a fine dining restaurant on site and great customer service reviews.
Save your money, time and disappointment and...
Read moreMy husband and I enjoyed an amazing two night stay here! I think the reviews below are outdated so I wanted to hop on here and provide an updated review as of August 2025!!
Location: it is located nearby downtown Leavenworth, a quick four minute drive! It is also in the same area as a Safeway which was super convenient!
Room: we stayed in a room with a king sized bed on the third floor! The digital app worked super well, and we did not need to use our room keys for anything! It also was super convenient to use the app for other room controls and checking out. In addition, the Wi-Fi was a little slow, but the TV had both cable and all the streaming apps embedded so I just needed to simply log into my Apple TV account! The only downside to the room is at the door to the bathroom was the same door to the closet, and it was a little bit broken, so it didn't slide easily. While the bed was big, it was pretty hard, and the pillows were not very comfortable. Otherwise, the blackout curtains were great, and the AC worked well! The rooms also come with a mini fridge, iron, and ice machine down the hall. No microwave from what I can recall. Bathroom was super clean!
Amenities: my husband and I work out every morning, so having a gym was a criteria during this trip (yes we still enjoyed the trails outdoors!!). The treadmills were great and the free weights as well! We also used the on-site laundry, which was convenient and that we just needed to pay with her credit card. The hotel usually has detergent and dryer sheets for sale, but they ran out, but it was not a problem because we went a few steps down the road to Safeway to pick some up! We also were able to enjoy the pool and hot tub!
Food: there is free, hot coffee (light roast, dark roast, decaf) & hot water for tea 24/7 located in the lobby! In addition, a delicious continental, buffet style breakfast is included in your stay and it is available from 6 AM to 10 AM. Also, if you missed the breakfast hour or need to rush out, they also have free bags prepared for travelers on the go filled with a bagel, a bottled water, PB&J, a fruit, and a granola bar!
Parking: free and plentiful! Side entrances to the hotel from the parking lot were also accessible from the app btw!!
Staff: everyone was super friendly! The rooms are usually cleaned every other day but the cleaning staff were able to clean upon request on the second day!
I am always an anxious traveler and want to feel safe/clean whenever I stay - and this was the perfect place!! I would recommend & if we ever came back to Leavenworth again, we would totally...
Read moreDecided to check out Leavenworth while the Christmas lights are still up for January. We’re Hilton Gold members and upon checking in, we received a free brown paper lunch bag with 2 waters in it and a bag of Tim’s potato chips (~$2.50 in value). While not to knock a gift horse in the mouth felt ridiculous and small. We stayed here since we had a free night and were on the first floor. The walls are super thin. We heard every single door open and close, every car that passed by, and everyone that walked down the hallway. It was dark in the room, but with the noise it was hard to sleep. I figured there would be a sound curfew. My wife worked hotels and told me she looks at stays as a customary and company and was sorely disappointed with this stay. It was loud and light leaked brightly from the bottom door to the room. Bathroom only had 3 towels even though reservation was for 4, bathroom door was a pocket door (not an actual door) so lack of privacy already, and room only had 2 super small waste baskets that couldn’t fit our trash for a family of 4. Felt like we wasted our free points by staying here. There’s also a night light in the bathroom that looks suspiciously like maybe a camera was inside since there looked to be a red light inside. Was hard to tell so dismissed it.
Breakfast was ok. Omelettes, waffle station (super packed, be prepared to wait 10+ mins to use), potatoes, fruit, all you can drink coffee and hot chocolate. I asked the front desk for an extra sheet and blanket since our oldest kid likes to take an entire bed to themselves, so one of us slept on a chair. Front desk looked confused at first and wondered why, but gave me a set of sheets and blanket anyways. The hotel is right next to a Safeway that has a Starbucks in it, which makes it convenient if you need things or want coffee. There are no restaurants nearby. Hotel offers a free shuttle that goes downtown at certain times of the day and has the schedule posted in the main lobby.
RECOMMENDATION: Stay downtown Leavenworth. It’s way easier to wake up and walk the main strip than stay here, drive and pay for parking. I guess you can walk to the main strip (1 mile from hotel), but with kids, makes it difficult. We previously stayed at a super nice AirBNB right on the strip for $300/night and was well worth it for the location. Would much rather stay at the AirBNB, wake up, walk and get breakfast than stay at this hotel again. Unfortunately, we won’t be staying here again. We do not recommend this hotel if...
