I’m currently at the hotel with my boys getting some father-son time. Our room is solid, a few beetles and geckos but I’m on the first floor so I expect that. Our checkin receptionist yesterday was very kind and accommodating and so was Luke today. Yesterday, during check in my Hilton honors card snaps in half - no big deal - things happen. Lastnight, while my boys are sleep I step outside to smoke and I’m by my truck. Well it’s 12pm and a lady drives up to the trash cans and I guess doesn’t see me by my truck. She gets out and we see eachother - I asked if she needed help. She’s prob older than my mother but basically she’s an older lady who has to use the restroom and couldn’t hold it and lived down the road. So, like a gentleman - I’m like no problem ma’am. I close my truck door and go walk a lap around the building so she could do her thing. Not realizing, I locked my keys inside the truck when I walked off to give her privacy. I go inside and go to talk to the lady on the night shift to tell her about what just happened. Well this lady, is wrapped in a blanket, leaned all the way back in her chair at the desk, mouth-wide open snoring. Anyone in this position, knows how awkward it is to have to try to wake someone up on their job multiple times and they wake up buck- eyed, with slobber - like “o I’m so sorry”. I have her grace and understand how hard life can be and work and she seemed exhausted. Now, after I wake her up, she explains how her maintenance tech could maybe help in the morning. Fast forward, today - I explain to Luke at the desk, whose very kind, of the situation and asked if they could help give me some type of discount for another night so I could figure out the locksmith situation bc of checkout was closing in. The manager, Nester, I was told said no they can’t help with a discount or anything. Luke says he’ll just give me late checkout for it anyways so he can at least help me ans much as he can And I get I locked my keys in the truck. But to say you can’t help at all, for customers experiencing people pissing in your parking lot, your employees sleeping on the job is wild to me. So I told them I would write this review bc despite how nice the front desk is. The manager on call - behind the scenes aren’t kind to help a guest. I’ve picked up trash here off the ground that’s not mine, wiped coffee off the ground that I didn’t spill and didn’t even get coffee, so no one slipped on it. But that’s me, just upsetting that the hospitality industry isn’t so hospitable. And sometimes when places get your money, they don’t care about what else. Even though this room will be vacant and they could gain some profit from my stay with a discount. I’ll never fn come here again. But locksmith is on the way - they love to charging extra on the weekend. But it...
Read moreOverall, we (myself, husband, and 2 kids) had a good stay here. We stayed 6 nights. The facilities are clean, rooms are spacious (lots of storage areas), and the beds were comfy. Breakfast was tasty too. However, there was one guy that hogged 1 of the 2 waffle makers one morning literally making almost 10 waffles for his family, including seconds, which takes 2.5 minutes to cook, while there was a long line behind him. In my opinion, the hotel really should have better rules for this type of thing.
Internet wasn't very fast either. I used my 5G most of the time due to it being so slow.
The one fairly large issue we had with this hotel was on the first night. When we went to take shower, our shower water was cold. It would not get warm at all. When we called down to the front desk, they told us that they did not have a maintenance person available. We gave it some time, thinking maybe all the water was gone somehow due to a lot of showers, but it never got warmer, in fact, it got colder (after leaving the water to run for 20 minutes). My husband went down and they basically said they didn't have another room available to switch us to. The next morning, we went down again to see what the status was of us switching rooms as the water was still cold (also was verified by maintenance). They said they were waiting for a room to be cleaned. We waited almost 3 hours and it ruined our plans for the morning. We had to be proactive with them and check with them several times to see how long it would be since they couldn't give us a time. If we didn't, I don't think we would have gotten another room until the normal check in time. We never got an apology either which bothered us, especially since it ruined our plans for that morning. In our new room, on the last night, we temporarily did not have hot water again, it was lukewarm. It was not nearly as bad as the first room since that room literally was cold but it is apparent that this hotel has some kind of issue with the hot water. I do feel we should have been reimbursed for that one night (according to their guarantee) as we were not satisfied at all. No one wants to take a cold shower after driving 10 hours all day. However, it is what it is.
Side note, that initial room with the cold water was room 436. It also had a loud noise that constantly rumbled in and out. I am guessing it was the compressor of the air handler on the roof above. It was super annoying in addition to the lack of hot water.
Aside from this issue, I think we would still stay here again. The front desk ladies were friendly and helpful and the rest of the week did make up for the one night and...
Read moreWe liked the happy chairs (3rd pic) in the lobby 🤣. The hotel was fantastic. The staff were always professional and helpful no matter the hour. Laundry room was great and the machines were easy to use. The pool area was nothing fancy, not large, but it was enough. Often was busy at night but empty during the day.
Wasn't a particularly amazing area but neither a bad part of town. We had to travel far to go everywhere we wanted to see. Not exactly in the midst of the touristy stuff there. But there were some great restaurants in walking distance.
Breakfast was good and we were always able to find seating. Though the warm food was disappointing. In the elevators you see a poster of this yummy egg dish. We were there for 7 breakfasts and only had that once--the first morning (then our expectations were set)! Other than that it was omelettes and breakfast sandwiches that were not cooked fresh and tasted like it. We stayed in 7 hotels on our journey and this was number 5 in rank of good breakfasts. Far from the top. But for continental type stuff it had a good selection. It was the only one with Nutella which our kids loved.
The room was spacious and very modern and clean. Though in our 7 nights it was only cleaned once and for that we had to ask. We aren't sure why as we were told it would be every 2-3 days and I believe them. Ours was somehow missed. So it was getting pretty messy. I was constantly having to take out our trash and exchange our towels for clean ones.
There were 6 of us so we left the pullout couch always open. This meant there was little walking space. That would be my main complaint. Again, in our 7 hotels, this one was the smallest of all rooms. All other rooms for 6 were a little more spacious and similar or better pricing. But what it did have in spades was storage. When we saw the room size I was nervous about where all our suitcases and bags would go but easy. We put them straight into the giant drawers and never took anything out of the bags. So I was glad we brought small bags and not giant suitcases. The rolling table was perfect for meals. Great desk for all our tech stuff. And charging ports all over the room, more than any other hotel we stayed at. And with 6 of us, we had probably 10 things to plug in.
The bathroom counter was awesome - - so spacious. And the kitchen! Wonderful! With a full sized fridge. Not just a mini fridge and microwave. I so appreciated the kitchen for our week stay! You can also get a hot plate (and pot/pan) at the front desk for a $50 refundable deposit.
We would gladly choose to stay here again or another...
