DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL - IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS LOCATION After all the humiliation as Texans, we have endured during last week's winter storm, my family and I decided to stay at this nightmare hotel. We wanted to regain our decency back after not having running water at my place for over a week. It is at this BATES MOTEL where my catalytic converter was stolen from their parking lot. We informed the Lewisville Police Department, they created a report, their officers are always very professional and kind, we have never suffered any discrimination from this police department. To continue, our car insurance would not cover the $345 we had to spend on behalf of this hotel's lack of security measures. To make matters worse, their General Manager (Timothy Bleekek,) did not even offer to compensate us for the night stayed, we were not even offered a discount. We were supposed to stay one more night, but you can understand how afraid we were to lose another part of our vehicle, therefore we cancelled our reservation. Thank goodness they did not charge us for that extra night! According to the very kind officer who came to gather the evidence, (left behind by these stupid criminals, under my car,) he informed us that this is common from this neighborhood. Well, the ratings for this hotel stated only how clean this hotel was, which even though they are under construction, I must admit, they are keeping the place clean. Hopefully, after reading this you make the decision not to sacrifice your vehicle of your safety at this La Quinta. Our family feels very violated. The question everyone I have shared this unfortune event has is, "who does this during the worse week of all of our lives?" I hope they get what they deserve ten times worse... You all, including the General Manager at this place, have left our family making the tough decision, do we pay our rent or pay for the repairs to my vehicle? Horrible, just horrible, no one should have to withstand so much pain and sorrow. Good Luck to you and be safe else where... And yes, I will be happy to speak to corporate regarding this incident. Do the right thing here please. Your horrible hotel has my contact information.
My response to you Timothy - Your comment speaks very loudly on how your hotel conducts business, (no clue as to how to be a professional, maybe a phone call to address the dissatisfaction, and the violation of our personal property.) Furthermore, during our entire stay, we never saw anyone patrolling your property. Not even the entire time we were there, shamefully gathering our belongings, while trying to keep our composure with you, about the horrible event that happened at your hotel. Let me guess, maybe the cameras you claim to have on one side of the property (not where my vehicle was parked,) captured this patrol you are speaking of. This is the Land of Freedom of speech. I am just warning the next family, to be aware of their personal safety, and the deceit that comes along with it. We didn't make this up to try to get a freebie. You heard what the officer said, "this happens all the time in this neighborhood." I mean, you were standing there with us when he made that comment... Let's just allow your future consumers to decide for themselves. You can write what ever entices you next, as a response to my last comments. Next time, I will forward this information to the media, and let your consumers, really decide for themselves. Best of luck to you and your...
Read moreThis was my first time staying at a La Quinta in more than a decade. The last time I stayed in one, I felt pretty confident that a crime had been committed in my room at some point. But never say never, and I decided to give them a second chance. In general, it was fine. I think the place La Quinta continually falls short is in the area of optics. Little things that if addressed would go a long way toward the overall experience of staying at the facility.
THE GOOD: • They’ve done a good job with the appearance of their rooms, they have a modern feel, and the faux hardwood is a great addition • The staff was pleasant and helpful. • They have a feature in their shower that was new to me, which I enjoyed – the nozzle to turn the shower ON/OFF and adjust the temperature is at the opposite end of the shower, allowing you to turn on the water without getting wet. • There are USB ports for easy charging of your phone built into the clock on the nightstand.
THE NEUTRAL: • The facility is clean, but normal dings, scuffs, and wear that occur over the years appear to not have been addressed – little things that if addressed would go a long way. For example – the label for the 3rd floor inside the elevator was missing. Floors 1, 2, and 4, were marked. For a split second, I was wondering if the #3 was bad luck (like 13) and they didn’t have a 3rd floor. But I pushed that blank button and ended up on my floor, so it all worked out.
THE BAD: • Like many hotels, the walls are thin. I’m pretty sure my neighbor must have fallen asleep with their TV on, and the volume was up pretty loud past 1 a.m. I then woke up in the morning to what sounded like muffled crying – I felt bad that someone was having a tough start to the day, but it’s not the most comforting way to wake up. • The location is very close to the 35E (Stemmons Freeway) and you can hear the traffic at all hours. • While I love that the shower shutoff was on the far end of the shower, I realized why it was necessary – the water pressure in the rooms is so low that you’d definitely get wet turning on the shower under a normal setup. The water in the sink faucet barely clears the edge of the sink due to the low water pressure, making it tricky to get your toothbrush wet and really hard to get all the soap off your hands after washing them. • They have water-conserving toilets, which is great, but why do they need to be so deep? The interior of the bowl is 18” deep (as a point of reference, most residential bowls are 12” deep), and they only have 2” of water in them. It makes it look/feel like there’s something wrong with the toilet. • They offer a free breakfast buffet in the mornings which is nice. It’s currently set up where you’re served the breakfast by an employee due to covid restrictions, I don’t mind that. However, they set up a tip jar at the end of the buffet line. It felt opportunistic as customers are going to feel bad not leaving a tip. If La Quinta is going to cosign on this, then they need to not call it a "free" breakfast.
I would stay at La Quinta again, given the massive upgrade this visit was from the last time, but there’s definitely room for...
Read moreI hate having to give such a mixed feeling review about this place but it just wasn't all they described it to be.. The rooms were clean and were nice compared to other hotels I've stayed in and the staff was really nice however I do have some complaints cuz my itinerary was misleading as to what we were getting. We were suppose to have a double room with 2 queen beds and if they consider the room we got a double it is misleading to say the least. Also my itinerary said I would have a sound proof room and there was nothing sound proof about it. We could clearly here the people in the room next to us and the kids above us stomped on the floors all day and parts of the night. Sounded like a stampede was running all over our ceiling. The seating area that supposedly made our room considered a double consisted of one chair in an area about 3ft wide. We planned on our kids doing Christmas at our room and there just wasn't room as I thought there would be. We made it work but it shouldn't have been listed as a double room with seating area. I have also never been in an indoor pool at a hotel that wasn't heated and there was absolutely no heat in theirs. It's was ice cold to the point it turned my legs purple after only a few min. I was glad I didn't just jump in like I normally would have cuz I would have had a heart attack. Oh and when I took a shower the water temp would not regulate. It took 10 min of running it for hot to even come out of the faucet and when I got it it went cold after 2 min then back to hot that almost burned me back to cold and back to hot then cold again. Needless to say my relaxing hot shower did not relax me and was very uncomfortable and disappointing. I thought maybe it was just my shower on the frits but my step daughter was a few rooms down and said hers was the same way. Being a hotel u would think the hot water would have been more than plenty to go around but I guess not. This was not the review I was hoping to leave cuz I'm an open minded person and don't nit pick everything apart like some people do but just as u want honest reviews we want honest descriptions where we r looking to stay. I only have one other complaint and know that it's a personal complaint but I feel it should be taken into consideration for future guests that also come across the issue.. not everyone can use dove products, for instance, me, I am extremely allergic to any dove products on the market.... It would have been nice if an alternative option could have been given since I was unable to use any of the complimentary products instead of having to go out and purchase other accommodations. Surely someone could order and keep a box of alternatives just for these circumstances. I can't be the only one who has asked for them. Just something to consider is all. The staff was exceptionally friendly especially the assistant manager on duty. She was great. All of the house keepers were very nice and the breakfast wasn't bad. A few description changes and a couple of other fixes and I would have given...
