If all you need is a place to sleep, especially if you aren't planning on spending much time in your room, then this place is adequate. The wife and I are nest makers, when it comes to vacation. We love a comfy bed and WiFi (since we live rurally, WiFi is a vacation worthy amenity), and tv to watch while we eat junk food. This room 603 provided that essentially, except the WiFi doesn't work, and found out that it will never work in this room. Called front desk and was given an excuse about concrete walls and how she was calling maintenance to see if there was anything that could be done. Well, she never got back to me and reading consumer reviews tells me that this is an ongoing problem, they know perfectly well about it, and they are letting rooms with WiFi listed as something one would expect. That's bad business. Just be honest, rather than giving me a bait and switch. Kudos on the renovations, your customer service was otherwise fine, it's not clear from the building what office you're supposed to check in at, but the WiFi situation and dishonesty will keep me from coming back. (Ps, the renovations on the fireplace are worse than half assed. Those glass tiles without the grout are sharp and can be a danger. If I had young children with me, I wouldn't have stayed there for the night)
Update: after reading the business' response, and the complete lack of ownership of the issues described, these are the facts: The Beachfront Manor is the recently renovated building I stayed in. The room was 603. The wifi is not a problem with coastal ISP's, as I was able to walk around to the other set of rooms on the south side of the building and was instantly able to get internet through the wifi router named "Beachfront". This is a technical issue, more likely stemming from the building's construction (e.g. concrete walls and floors). And finally, the reason I gave the low score was the dishonesty I received, from the reservation made through the Beachfront Manor website saying that WiFi would be available in my room, to the office staff who knowingly told me that they would have maintenance look into a known issue that isn't solvable by maintenance. Although, I will say this, I don't know who wrote that response, but there were multiple families with children, staying the night on my floor. So, not sure why they would even say that children are...
Read moreTo start, we arrived late in Lincoln City with reservations at another hotel that turned us away because they were actually sold out...even with a reservation. So about 10:00 at night with two toddlers we are scrambling to find another room This is just terrible. I mean no where on the website does it say that children are not welcome, so after booking a room and getting to the hotel at 10:30 pm I was informed that kids are not welcome here. After talking to the lady she pretty much says she going to act as if she did not know. She gives me the keys and points me in the direction of the building with no further information. We make it into the room after taking our kids out the car in 50 degree weather to make it into the room, we try to turn on the fire place (as it is the only source of heat) and it is not working. I try to fix it and after about 10 min we decided to call the front desk. The lady tells my wife that since we are not supposed to have kids, she can not send the guy to fix it because he is the owner. So here we are 10:50, cold, with kids, in a hotel that does not want our kids here, no fire place, and not enough blankets. My wife decided to run to go get blankets at the front desk, and after her being gone for 10 min she come back and says the front desk told her she is going to send Someone she found to come fix the fire place. After about 5 min the person comes to fix it. They are here trying.....trying....trying.... Finally my wife says can we have some extra blankets. This lady tells us because it is after 11 (literally 11:03) they are closed and she does not have the keys so she can not get us extra blankets. So here we are in 50 degree weather, not enough blankets, cold, with kids, in a hotel that does not say anywhere they don't allow kids, no heat source, all in a hotel that cost me 166 dollars. So it is safe to say that after working 10 days straight and not having any time with my family the start of our small family get away is not good. Thank you...
Read moreThis was my 4th stay here with my wife. Unfortunately the cleanliness and staffing had gone way down hill.
The positives from our stay was that the location, and view is wonderful. We also didn't hear any noise from any other occupants.
The negatives: upon arrival I was informed that had fireplace in our room didn't work but that we would have a space heater for our room. (No compensation was offered for the lack of listed amenity). When we reached out room no space heater could be found, we called the front desk and asked for the heater, we were questioned as if we were lying. Eventually a very small heater was brought us. We got in our hot tub later in the evening (after dark), when I got out of the hot tub I stopped in broken glass and cut my foot. After taking care of my bleeding I checked the deck for more glass and found shattered safety glass all over. We called the front desk and they came down apologized and offered first aid supplies and swept up most of the glass (I found more the next day and cleaned it up myself). We were cold that night because the little heater wasn't enough to keep the room warm, so we asked the front desk for an extra blanket, we were rudely told that we were already given a heater and begrudgingly given a blanket.
Also lots of dead bugs in the window tracks, an empty water bottle of the floor from the previous occupants and getting in the shower.
When we checked out after our stay I told the front desk about our issues and was given a flippant response of, "sorry to hear that I'll tell my supervisor." No offer for partial reimbursement and even a sincere apology.
Due to poor cleaning, broken fire place, shattered glass, and lack of attentive staff my wife and I are disappointed that we do not plan on returning to the Beachfront Manor for a long time, or until we hear of improved management and care of...
