We love Country Inn and Suites, and we have stayed there many times very the years. However, now that we both are dealing with some physical disabilities we have really struggled to be able to enjoy traveling nearly as much because there are constant accessibility issues. Because of this, I called ahead to make sure our room was mobility-accessible with a roll-in shower. In this case, we reserved a King bed mobility accessible suite with a roll-in shower. It was very nice and we were really happy with it until it was time to use the shower. When I folded down the shower seat for my wife I saw that one side was pulled out from the wall. It wasn’t stable and could not be safely used. The seat was only attached to the fiberglass surround to begin with, and did not have any kind of backing in the wall to screw the seat in securely. It wasn’t stable and was also barely 15” in height. ADA guidelines require shower chairs/benches to be 17”-19” high so that it’s not so difficult to sit and stand. I reported the broken bench immediately to the front desk and asked for a shower chair. They did not have one, which meant we were unable to shower. This was really frustrating because we’d called ahead specifically to clarify that we’d be able to shower. The front desk clerk did offer to let us move to a different room, but it was already after 11:00 P.M. and would have been really difficult to get everything packed up, moved to a different room, and unpacked again, especially when it was already so late, and because my wife is in a wheelchair, so we declined. The incident was handled well and everyone was very nice and apologetic, however this has been an ongoing issue at almost every hotel we’ve stayed in, and it’s frustrating. Though previous guests who stayed in that room (101) should have reported the broken seat, we are also curious as to why housekeeping would not have seen the problem and had it taken care of if they are properly cleaning the shower and bench. Other than this issue, we had a great stay, and we do...
Read moreI will ALWAYS stay here when visiting family and friends in Lincoln! Allie was so sweet and helpful during check-in. Elizabeth with Housekeeping was so friendly and had my room in pristine condition when I arrived. There were so many other staff members who were equally as friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and smelled good. I didn’t have to light a candle the way I do with some hotels to cover odors left by previous guests. I stayed 7 days and enjoyed the variety of foods on the buffet at every breakfast. There were biscuits and gravy, sausage links, bacon, cheesy omelettes, boiled eggs, grits, fresh fruit (bananas, apples, oranges, and fresh fruit salad), make your own waffles (regular and pumpkin spice), regular and sugar free syrups, bagels and cream cheese, several kinds of cereals and milk, toast, peanut butter, jelly, honey, 4 different juices, cocoa, several varieties of teas, and coffee with several types of creamers and sweeteners. The main hot entrees changed daily, but everything else was available every day of the week. Coffee and tea were available in the lobby 24/7. The bed and pillows were comfy. Bedroom lamps and desk had usb outlets. Windows had different types of curtains depending on the light level or blackout you wanted. The indoor heated pool was a great temp and was clean without the strong stench of chlorine many indoor pools have. The hot tub was nice on chilly evenings and cold mornings (the hot tub timer is up on the wall by the warning sign in case you cannot find it!). NOTE: I can’t believe how many negative reviews there are online about this hotel. It is an older hotel and is being renovated, but I did not see a single issue some of these Karens have complained about. For being one of the least expensive hotels in Lincoln, near the airport, across the street from Sam’s/Wal-mart/Dollar Tree/several restaurants, and just minutes to the University and downtown, you can’t beat this hotel. It’s...
Read moreHello! Me again! Well we decided to give Country Inn one more try! So a month ago my review on this place was correct as what I've said. Anyway this te around much much different experience! First of all y'all finally made Miss Alisha executive, why did it take so damn long! I mean her staff completely different people, same girls but completely different. The two days there this time I seen warm welcoming smiles from all the ladies. Very different from last month, they looked as if they were enjoying their job, not like last time! Miss Alisha has these girls making these rooms cleaner and when asking for an extra towel or coffee per sale quick and full of smiles! Alisha is doing a great job with the house keeping and her staff great job miss Alisha! And the breakfast, we where almost going to go get something but Zyla my granddaughter said she wanted to eat here, so of course she wins. Glad we did much much better. Sandra this time was full of smiles welcoming us, and did a great job keeping everything stocked from what she had to work with. The set up still terrible, come on I think y'all can come up with something a little better make her job a little less confusing. Zyla said that she loves her hair said she looked like Minnie mouse lol. Anyway much better miss Sandra. Now the welcoming, when we walked in miss Nevaeh was at front desk, she came around from the desk extending her hand welcoming us back with a soft hand shake, wait what! In my forty years of staying in hotels I have never had that experience of a welcoming! My advice Country Inn, clone that girl! Y'all need more like her at your desks! Country Inn and Suites keep the improvements moving forward much better experience 💯! We...
