In all the years I have lived in Lincoln, I have never been compelled to write a review about a restaurant until now. This was our first visit to Villa Amore and we were reluctant to try it becuase we thought it was a part of the Country Inn. I am very happy we decided to give it a try! Our server Anna was outstanding and probably the best server we have ever had - she is truly an asset to this restaurant. If you're thinking I am saying this becuase I know her, guess again. This was our first time meeting Anna and she was excellent beginning to end! We started with the stuffed sausage and the calamari for appetizers - honestly the best appetizers i've ever had in Lincoln and I can't wait to go back to have these again. This is the first time we have finished eating all appetizers with no leftovers becuase they were beyond delicious! (picture with all clean appetizer plates). The side salads were fresh and the flavor in all our entrees were on point! I had the NY Strip entree which was surprisingly cooked to a perfect medium rare! I have nothing but great things to say about Villa Amore and this is truly a hidden gem in Lincoln! We look forward to coming back soon!

Weird re-purposed motel restaurant, previously branded as a pub with Guinness advertisements throughout. This is supposed to be an Italian restaurant...why all the Guinness signs? Salad dressings out of the bottle, and loaded on salads. Ceasar salad had stale croutons, no parm--only powdered parm-like product for pizza. Bread is also institutional pre-made product with a weird "European Style Butter Blend" containing exactly 0% butter. Chicken parm is soft and wet from sitting in sauce. Marinara tastes thin and pre-made. Lasagna wasn't terrible, but billed as authentic and had no bachamel sauce and the same Marinara with no depth of flavor, just a bit of meat added that was okay in some bites, but off-putting in others. Thus okay Italian food along the same lines as olive garden. Nothing in the dishes tells tge story that the pasta is hand made, or the sauce made over time. For that, you will need to travel east to Omaha, for chefs' favorite Pasta Amore! I'll give this a 2 star rating, but my readers readily know it is hard to impress me in the midwest where everything is drenched in ranch dressing.

Dinner with the kids and Grandma this week. The bread. I've said it before but I would literally hoard those rolls. Mom agreed. We killed our first basket in no time. Salads are good. Kids both got Cheese Raviolis with Marinara. Generic pasta, they love it, no complaints. I ordered Spinach Raviolis with extra sautéed onions. I don't think I got the extra but they were yummy regardless. 4 Raviolis served on a gargantuan platter for some reason 😆. Mom chose the Chicken Cacciatore. Angel Hair with Spicy Marinara and Veggies. Right up her alley. Kids tried a bit and liked it too. She's already trying to figure out when she can make a to-go order! Grandma spoiled them with a dessert. They split the Chocolate Cheesecake. Decent portion for the price. Service was good, then totally absent, then attentive again. For awhile we saw every server but our own. She made up for it in the end. Out of the handful of similar Italian fare in Lincoln (Napolis, Florios) I still think this is the best!

I was excited because of what I heard and read before, but it sadly didn't live up to that. I like the atmosphere and there was nothing to complain about the staff, also everything was clean and neat and overall the restaurant seemed very nice. However me and my group found the food to be just fine. I had the calamari appetizer, which I wished was crunchy, but it was more sogy. Then I had the pizzailoa which had a lot of potential, but just didn't have the flavors developed. The sauce had all the ingredients but I tasted all of them separately and there was no real cohesion, but all the ingredients seemed fresh. I also had the soup, it was ok, I would have liked chunks in it, but that's more a personal preference, the flavor was good. We had 2 rounds of bread, the first round was great, we tried the olive oil and the tubbed butter and for us we did prefer the butter, but the bread was good. The second round of bread may have only been 90% baked, and a little doughy and less brown, we didnt mind it that way, but I prefer them consistent. We also had the trio and one I don't remember the name but it was spicy, they were fine, but nothing to write home about. My wife put it best: everything was fine, it's just nothing I would ever be craving. All that said I know they are new and I would be willing to come and try them again in the future, because I think they should deserve to be successful, which is also why I am trying to leave a...

I don't write many negative reviews, but this place was such a disappointment compared to the 4.7 rating that I felt compelled to say our experience. Of the five people in our group that I spoke with, only one of us liked our meal (he had the Cannelloni). The others of us who had pasta thought our dishes were surprisingly bland. The Caesar salad dressing was too sweet, and the person who had salmon on her salad said it was flavorful but overcooked. The pizza looked like it may be good, but none of us tried it. The ingredients in everything seemed of good quality and fresh, but we'd have never expected to go 1 for 5 as far as enjoying the flavor and preparation of the dishes at a place with this high of a rating. The service was also a disappointment. Our server often asked us to hand her items even though it seemed that she could have reached the items smoothly on her own if she were trained the way most servers are at restaurants that have table linens. At first I thought maybe it was for COVID safety, but she also had us hand her other people's used items so that wasn't the case. Obviously this place has its fans, but if you want complex, layered Italian flavor, I would not recommend going here. It seems like they keep things super basic to try to appeal to everyone. While that may be frustrating for the chef, it was a bummer...

I would not recommend this place to my enemies. Outdated on the inside and just an off vibe. Restaurant was attached to an hotel. Our waitress seemed like she did not enjoy her job. Which is okay we all have our off days. Shared their house specialty bruschetta and was very underwhelmed by that. My salad had ALOT of brown wilted lettuce. Our soup also had no potatoes or chicken….when the soup was described to us we were told it would have chuncks of each. My friend got the tour of Italy and I was simply unimpressed. Chicken reminded me of high school. Microwave chicken maybe? I got the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo which was okay. But the presentation was bad….. parsley randomly on the plate. I would expect “ deveined “ shrimp to have the tail shells to be taken off, but they were left on. Our first round of bread was great the second round was hard and stale almost? We got a cannoli for dessert but the cream cheese filling was grainy? Not a good mouth feel at all. When we got our checks I was charged for a double when I did not order one….. overall disappointing. Not even an hour after eating my friend puked her whole dinner up. Me and my friend go out to eat at least once a week and this was our first bad experience in almost a year. (Update I have had a serious stomach ache for the past 8...
