I’m day 1 into a 2 night stay. So far, I’m underwhelmed. ||Positives: ||-The service at breakfast was excellent. Lorraine (Lorri?) was my server and she was excellent. Food was typical Hilton breakfast buffet selection and quality which was just fine. Even though it was a breakfast buffet, she provided great service. ||-A somewhat ‘kitschy’ thing. The area where the ice machines are located on each floor was decorated in a very ‘cool’ way with movie and music posters. I’ve never seen anything like this. And while it didn’t add or detract from the hotel quality, I found it interesting (b/c I am a movie/music nerd too).||-Fitness center was cozy but adequate. Had the essentials for a decent workout, and it’s open 24 hours. ||-While this is not specific to the HIlton, there are some decent options around the hotel for a morning walk/run, but there are also some ‘sketchy’ areas near the hotel. I never felt unsafe, but you may want to keep your head on a swivel if you head out for a walk/run. There is a decently marked bike/walk path that goes along the water (good views of the Queen Mary and marina area). ||Negatives:||-I was ‘upgraded’ to a private card access only floor and a ‘Pure’ room (I have Diamond Honors’ status). 12 of the 15 floors in the hotel are ‘card access only’ so not sure how it’s an upgrade. The ‘Pure’ room while good in theory, didn’t feel different from any other standard king room except for an air purifier. Which begs the question, is the air ‘bad’ in the other parts of the hotel? If you make a reservation here, don’t pay extra for the ‘private keyed floor’. You’ll probably end up on a private keyed floor anyway. And unless you have severe allergies, don’t fall for the ‘pure’ room gimmick. ||-Entire hotel, including the room, is in need of a major refresh. Everything feels VERY dated - like this hotel was probably nice in 1998. Now it feels old and tired. Nothing was necessarily dirty, it just feels worn.||-Not too sure why, but there were a TON of kids roaming around the hotel. I estimate late grade/middle school age. And majority of the time they were NOT supervised. They weren’t misbehaving per se, but they were loud and running around a lot….leaving garbage around (empty drinking cups) playing pool in the lobby loudly, etc.||-While there are plenty of USB/charging ports on the nightstand, there is NOTHING at the room desk. Not conducive for doing work in your room.||-There is a pool, but it’s small and also dirty. There was a group in there late night and in the morning, it was a mess with toys and floats still in the pool. Blame can (should) be put on the guests for leaving a mess, but the hotel needs to be more attentive and clean it up. ||-Unless you like looking at cranes, cargo containers, and a busy highway, opt for a view that is NOT of the port. I hope the port view room is NOT considered an ‘upgraded’ view. I was in an even numbered room. Not sure what the odd numbered rooms look at, but it can’t be worse. ||-There are 4 elevators, but only 2 of them seemed to be working. And by working, they went up/down. However, the ride felt anything but safe. Both cars I rode in shook like they were about...

I feel I must preface this by saying my review is for the hotel and interactions I had with staff and amenities only. This encompasses phone calls with the hotel and in person interactions.

If this review was based on the over all Hilton website, and user friendliness of it, it would 1 star. Same with the people I talked with through the phone tree system when initially calling.

Hilton Long Beach was booked as a place to rest my head the night before a cruise. My biggest complication was finding parking for my cruise when Carnival (not Hilton's fault) switched parking plans for me. It's a long story, but let me just say I was pretty pissed and the overall service I received from the main Hilton line.

Already frustrated I spoke with manager Lawrence on site in Long Beach, and was an amazing help and was able to sort out my reservation and parking issues. Top notch guy in my book.

The morning of my arrival, and prior to my drive to Long Beach from Phoenix I got an email that I could check in, when attempting to do that, the website told me my reservation could not found. This made me pretty nervous, so I called the hotel again, and they confirmed all the details of my reservation.

Upon arriving, I spoke with Andy. this dude gets 5 stars in my book. He helped me out when there was some confusion about my reservation. the treatment I got form both Lawrence eon the phone and Andy in person was exceptional, and I'm very grateful.

The hotel itself, it's nice. really is. the elevators suck. My family rode the elevator to our floor, I was I the front so I got off the elevator walked out to give everyone some room to get out. When I turned around, they were not there. The elevator closed on my wife and headed back down. I hadn't given her a key yet, and to get back up you need the key, so they were stuck down there. I tried to go to my room and my stuff in there, and the key didn't work. I was pissed again. Elevator closed on my family, and my keys didn't work.

We back down stairs, they my bags down in the lobby, yeah probably created a scene, loudly used adult langue to express my unhappiness with this facility, and spoke with Andy again. Again, he was a rock star. he helped me out and seemed very genuinely concerned about my unhappiness.

In closing this long review, the staff here is amazing and I am very thankful for them. I feel guilty I have been grumpy and made their jobs a little bit more difficult today.

The coolest part of this hotel in my opinion is the area where the ice machine is at. It made me smile. thanks...

Day trip in Long Beach before going on our cruise. Great location!!! Walking distance to downtown, shopping, restaurants and other activities. When we arrived, the front desk clerk was very nice and courtesy. He advised that the room I selected on Hilton App wasn’t ready but offered another room on higher floor with city view. He stated the new room should be ready in about 20 minutes, so we decided to eat at on-site bar Enclave. They have a sign stating please wait to be seated, which we waited for quite a bit before the bartender finally came over and stated we could sit anywhere. Once seated, a waitress did come over with the menu. She was nice and helpful. I asked her what she recommended, and she stated she was just returning after being off for over a year, so the menu was a little different. I tried the fish tacos, but they were not good. The reason I stated she was helpful is because she apparently noticed my facial expression from afar eating tacos and came over. I advised that they were not good, and she was very nice about taking it back and letting me get something else. My daughter had the chicken sandwich, which she stated wasn’t cooked all the way. The manager came over he was very nice as well and advised he would take it off check. My daughter decided she didn’t want to try anything else. I got The Classic which was good. It was also big enough to share with my daughter. Our room was nice with great view of the city and cruise ship in port, lots of outlets to charge devices, mini fridge, coffee/tea maker, safe, luggage rack, full body mirror, and ample closet space. No microwave in room, but you can find one next to the ice maker in the hall. The only issue I had with room is that the shower head was corroding, so it had greenish stains on it, which for a Hilton brand, I wouldn’t expect that. The hotel has lots of amenities Hilton Jenga and table game in the lobby with complimentary waters, teas and fruits, 2 restaurants Enclave and The Loft, Starbucks, The Pink Pantry for snacks, souvenirs and other merchandise, multiple conference room, gym, pool on 2nd floor with fire pit, city view, games, pool toys and towels, Driver bikes and car, Pink ninja and they offer complimentary shuttle to cruise terminal along with anything in 1 mile radius. Even though I gave 4 star for small issue I still would stay here again if visiting or leaving out of Long Beach Terminal again. To see additional picture of hotel visit my YouTube channel since it only allows me to upload 50...
