Long Beach Public Library Foundation — Attraction in Long Beach

Every one of the workers at the library are extremely rude and lazy, the few computers they have are always taken. And the very few plug ins are ether taken or dont work. I over heard a lady from the help desk yelling at a young man about sleeping on the floor (though he was in nobody's way.) poor kid looked exhausted, and a few moments later a lady security gard (very rude African american) walking around walks past multiple people ( African Americans aswell)sleeping at tables taking up the whole table so only they can use the outlets. Bathrooms are always nasty. Seems like people are taking baths in the stall. They only have one stall per restroom. Thats inside the library, but just trying to walk up to it you could possibly be robbed or stabbed or jumped seems like theres nothing but drug dealers and gang members sitting right outside harassing everyone who walks in or out. So dirty always trash everywhere from the people who are alowed to sit outside and loiter. And cause an unsafe unclean environment. Security needs to do there jobs and get rid of the rift raff. Instead of bothering someone who wasnt bothering anyone.. Ill be using a different library from now on. Unless they can fix...

I keep wondering what is in the water in Long Beach that makes everybody rate any currently open office or business 4 stars. I have been here twice...very limited selection as everything is spread out amongst various branches. Seems like there is only one copy of everything. Add the fact that last time I was there (today) there were 2 piles of vomit on the entry walk, a guy sitting on his own urine and a lady screaming "sand ni**s". It is more than just homeless, it is the mentally ill population's toilet. Get with it Long Beach, these people need help, not a place to...

I am a new patron. I was assured that the system would notify me of due dates. Also, it was to offer an option to renew. I have checked out many items and returned them w/o an issue. However, one item had an email notice that warned of an upcoming due date and asked if I wanted to renew. I did. There was no response. I replied that there was no response. I sent a second email about that non response. I have been levied a fine. What is the point of email messages if you are not going to interact...
