How We Spent 48 hours in Long Beach, California @VisitLB #VisitLBPartner (SAVE + SHARE this post): Day 1: Check into @renlongbeach which is walking distance to everything we did during our quick trip to Long Beach. Lunch at @theordinarie and get the miso glazed chicken, thank me later! Whale watching tour with @harborbreesecruises is an absolute must. We saw two blue whales and a pod of over 300 dolphins! They even had employees from the local aquarium on board to go over important information about the animals and answer any questions you might have. Dinner at @sevillalb which specializes in Spanish tapas and often has live music. If you visit during happy hour like we did tacos are only $5! Day 2: Breakfast at SIP Bar + Lounge inside of @relongbeach Explore the @molaa.art which is the only museum in the country dedicated to Latin American art. Besides the gallery there is a beautiful sculpture garden. Lunch @parkerslighthouse for seafood and views of the harbor and Queen Mary. Rent a Surrey bike or regular bikes from @wheelfunrentalsofficial and take the Long Beach bike path to explore the coastline as well as the Shoreline Aquatic Park Ride the @longbeachtransit Aqualink over to Alamitos Bay, taking in the scenery of the coastline for 40 minutes. Have dinner @boathouseonthebay which also usually has live music with a great selection of seafood, the coconut shrimp appetizer was great! Play modern and vintage games at the @shorelinevillage Pelican Pier Pavilion Arcade. After you can walk around and get dessert at the ice cream or funnel cake shops. It was a quick trip but we had fun exploring Long Beach. Have you been to Long Beach, California? Anything we didn’t get to do that you would recommend?

Took my first walk along the newly opened International Bridge pedestrian/bike path. The views of the Port of Long Beach from the path are REALLY impressive. This is a great walk. The incline is a decent work out but not too steep for my boyfriend who has a bum knee. Great for intermediate bicycle riders. Only got 1/3rd of the way across the bridge as one of the gates was locked. The gates don't list hours of operation for the path so I don't know how to tell in advance when the path is fully open and when it is not. I hope Long Beach Unified makes this walk a field trip for elementary kids because from the top of the bridge the teacher could show them exactly how The Port Of Long Beach works. There are benches to sit on and observe the sunset and there are educational panels at the benches. While there is an actual, pedestrian path along with the bike path, I personally would not take a person in a wheelchair on this path even though it is technically possible. Because the wheelchair would take up the entire path. The pedestrian lane is only ONE lane while the bike lane is two lanes going in opposite directions. This means that if the wheelchair is headed towards Terminal Island and other pedestrians are headed towards Ocean Ave, one of these sets of people is going to have to go around the other into the bike lane. So just be aware of this.

This bike path is nice and well maintained, and once you climb to the top of the Long Beach Gateway bridges you will see some nice views. Also plenty of views of the port from here.
