I dropped by for a quick visit to the newly renovated Lincoln Park, the oldest park in the city of Long Beach. The park is located at the corner of W. Ocean Blvd. and Pacific Avenue in the city of Long Beach. The large open space is vast and situated behind The Billie Jean King public library.

Lincoln Park was established in 1880 and recently renovated and opened on February 11, 2022 just in time to celebrate Lincoln’s Holiday and Valentine’s Day on Monday, February 14th 2022. Lincoln Park boast many amenities on four (4) acres such as a universally accessible playground, dog park with designated small & large dog park area, fitness equipment, synthetic turf sports field, half basketball court, skate park, Discovery Zone for learning and exploration, grass area for sitting and playing, an iconic 14 foot tall Lincoln Penny, and a statue of Lincoln himself.

I need to stop by again and bring lunch and sit underneath the shaded trees and admire the tall buildings and architect in the area. Downtown Long Beach is developing very quickly and becoming a desirable location to work and live within the city. It’s wonderful to have such a large open space situated around massive structures to break up the landscape. We can all use more green space. Drop by if you’re in the area and enjoy a day...

For a Year old Park not the exact attraction as started be abuse of the type of visitors not in tune with this type of Environment and the Rules/Laws for this type of Environment. A Staff repeatedly take away the ugly appearance restoring the welcoming attraction for others. My words not to be sensitive Homeless is not USA individuals but individuals from other Countries and nonhomeless the same. All Long Beach California Beaches, Parks, Recreation and Marine have Rules and Laws. The same for California and USA Parks, Recreation and Marine, Beaches. Read the posted signs or look on the websites but tell those who you see are violating the Environment. This Country continue from adult to kids have individuals staying and visiting this Country but has not learned English language to communicate. Communicate to those the way you can and have them communicate the way...

Do not use water fountain as a sink or tub or use soap. People must keep all dogs in the fenced-in dog park areas not in public areas and grass..people do not share or have common areas with dogs in public. Signs are posted at the library columns and entriez to the park as to absolutely no smoking camping electrical riding/bikes/skates/ skateboarding which is to be walked no riding and other public things nor allowed in the park..the park has noticeable destruction from Individuals like the seating benches and surrounding ground areas filthy, use trashcan, report spills of coffee soda to the Library and or City of Long Beach California City Clerk for in between spot ground washing request. Keep parks beaches and city public places away from hazards...

Cool spot for kids and adults. Play some basketball or exercise. Bring a dog and go for a jog. Bring your yoga mats and pepper spray. I didn’t feel safe there, some people were sus and there is a lot of campers there. So just be vigilant and you should be ok. Although a couple weeks back the police were there and had a portion of the park closed off due to a crime scene.

Brand new and recently opened next to the Billie Jean King Library. Big open artificial grass area with people playing frisbee, soccer, and dogs chasing balls. Lots of families with children. Two enclosed dog parks (large dogs and small dogs). Everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves. The only criticism is that the bathrooms are filthy.
