NEVER RENT THIS PROPERTY NEVER EVER Vaping and smoking issue is real - it sips through the ventilation and makes me unable to open balcony door as the smell comes in. Almost like 2nd hand vaping for an year I stayed here
Dogs barking and fire trucks' siren (so freaking loud) - so stressful; doesn't stop even at 3am.
Property management change is frequent and service deteriorating - when I first came in, it was managed by Greystar, the front desk person was so kind and always said hi how are you to residents. With the new (NewEarth - TERRIBLE) company now in, this is not there - just ice cold corporate management. Recently they also changed the property manager, and the transition period was terrible as they didn't answer phone calls and emails.
Elevators and wifi always down - now this is really terrible, I even had elevator down for like 4 hours on my move out day haha. Mobile key fob always not working - several times locked out due to this.
Now up to this point I had written this review, and they contacted me to delete the review, which I did, but now here's the final blow and reason why I am rewriting this review. SECURITY DEPOSIT - they will try their best to never give this back. I was charged 225$ for PAINT TOUCHUP (my apartment was super clean no damage), 100$ for APPLIANCES (idk what the hell this even means), 175$ for cleaning charges and fees. Now I not even can get the deposit returned but actually have to PAY for 75$ on top of my 500$ deposit being rescinded. This is the "definition" of a rip off - now I don't even want to speak with them I'll pay them whatever that 75$ and just leave this review and not delete it. Hope they learn that this is not the right way to do business.
They did not inform me to disconnect the electricity service, nor did they reach out to the SCE electricity, so my electricity meter was keep on rolling for like 2 months haha so funny isn't it.
Now, with all of these problems and a super high rent, would you rent this property? Ummmm oooo kkkk sure, but I would...
Read moreOur time living at The Magnolia was great during Ellie’s tenure and became below-satisfactory once new management arrived. I’d encourage any future residents to be cognizant of some details regarding the property:
-Comfort of living is permeated by excess noise levels deriving from the fire station throughout the day and night (especially if your residence is south-facing). Additionally, noise travels in all directions to the degree where you hear constant chatter, barking, and unwanted noise.
-The Magnolia’s internet service provider, BAI Connect, doesn’t deliver as it’s inconsistent with quality and spotty even while paying the upgrade for more Mbps.
-Parking is limited for residents (to the extent where some are routed to park in the Courthouse parking lot) and close to non-existent for guests as The Magnolia off-loaded a multitude of guest parking spaces to Sugar Taco.
-The bike room is constantly broken into and residents’ property has been stolen on numerous occasions.
-Expect the elevator(s) to be down multiple times during your lease—no exaggeration. Other medium of mobility is the staircase which then poses inconvenience, limitations, and lack of wheel chair accessibility.
-Communication dwindled since the departure of Ellie and Rose (previous management), and attention to detail from new management diminished. For instance, Sixto, the maintenance tech, retrieved our apartment keys and graciously facilitated the process ten full days before the expiration of our lease in which a final walk-around was successfully completed. Fast-forward days later, we receive a call from the Property Manager inquiring when the keys would be turned in.
As a Property Manager, it’s crucial to be proactive with the property you’re managing, up-to-date with functions concerning resident move-outs, and responsive when contacted via phone at different points...
Read moreWe are currently living at Magnolia Apartments in Long Beach, and we are extremely dissatisfied with the management team. Our apartment's AC has been broken since June and it has yet to be fixed (currently august) despite requesting maintenance 3 times. Initially, they provided a temporary AC unit, which worked, but the apartment's main AC never reached the set temperature and soon stopped .
Each time we requested to get the AC fixed, we received no response or updates. We always had to find the managers in person which they gave us a “sorry about it” response. The first two times we requested the ac to be fixed it would take a week to get an email saying that the issue has been resolved, only to try the ac and realize that its still not working! Then they would ask us to write a nice review about them when the problem wasn't even solved. The third time we requested the ac to be fixed, we didn't get a response at all. In which we asked for the portable ac unit at least while we’re waiting for someone to come help us. They never got back to us that day even though they said they would call us back. Please keep in mind that we live next to a fire department. Without the portable ac, were forced to leave the windows open listening the sirens while were trying to do work or get some sleep.
This ongoing issue and lack of communication from the management team have been incredibly frustrating. From our understanding it is magnolias duty to fix this issue promptly as it is considered a necessity especially in the summer time in the state of california. We will continue to update the community in regards to our experience here at the magnolia. We would not recommend Magnolia Apartments to anyone who is looking for a reliable maintenance and...
