My husband, daughter, and I came to visit our Sister while she is staying at the Homewood Suites by Hilton, my husband got in early last night, they went to eat at a local steakhouse and were back at the hotel before Midnight, my husband parked his truck along the side gate of the hotel, facing the road on Central Avenue. We got up early the next morning to eat breakfast and head out for the day, we took my car for a short road trip. Upon returning to the hotel, my husband gathered his stuff to head home since he works so early in the morning. When he got into his truck, I noticed how unusually loud it sounded, he got on the ground and looked underneath his truck, both of the catalytic convertors had been cut and removed and the bolts were lying on the ground. He came in and spoke with the young gentleman at the front desk, he seemed clueless as what to do, like nothing like this has ever happened before, he called someone, whom I am assuming was the General Manager of the Hotel, the young gentleman informed us, there were no cameras pointing towards the street, and she would deal with it in the morning. I'm pretty much speechless, I didn't think this was a rough area, but apparently other guests have made complaints about sketchy people driving through the parking lot at all hours and management doesn't seem to do anything about it, or guests hanging out front smoking weed and also in the elevators. I find it hard to believe that this being an establishment ran by Hilton that they wouldn't have better security in their parking lot, at least camera's or some sort of surveillance. I spoke with Hope, the Assistant General Manager, who barely apologized, was non-chalant, like it was no big deal, something that happens regularly. Super dismissive. There was also a homeless woman hanging out with her bags in the bathroom late the night before, I found that Super sketchy. Definitely lacking on their observation and attentiveness to guest services. Super disappointing. It's $2,300 to replace those, I've stayed in hole in the wall hotels and had a better experience! My sister in law finally found a sign tucked in the corner to the right as you walk in the door! She's been staying there since July 1st and today August 11th, it's the first time she's noticed it! Here is an Update from my sister in law! "I came home from work today and Hope the assistant general manager was at the front desk and was like "how are you ladies this afternoon" my response was I'd be better if my brother had two catalytic converter's on his truck" as I was walking towards my room and evidently Miss Jessica, the General Manager was there and overheard my comment, came out and told my coworker that she tried to call the police and said that the police couldn't do nothing about it because it's on private property I told my coworker I called BS because yesterday the police were out here making a report over something stolen. Imagine that! there were two cop cars here making a report? The cops never showed up and asked me to make a report. but even if that was the case, which I doubt seriously, then I believe Miss Jessica would have responded to my email already, and here it is two days later, and I've gotten nothing". Which she did tell my coworker that they don't get much for that anyway, just about 60 bucks makes me wonder if there is some kind of ring going on? 🤔 The sign posted said not to leave your valuables in your vehicle, I didn't realize we were supposed to bring in car parts with us that could be stolen on...
Read moreThis hotel exceeded my expectations! We came to KY for a Mother’s Day weekend trip and I am familiar with Homewood so decided to book here since it was only 12 minutes away from Kentucky kingdom. Upon arrival, I was weary that with it being by the airport that parking would be a nightmare. I was pleasantly surprised by not only a spacious lot but was able to park right next to the entrance. With me being 7 almost 8 months pregnant; this was more appreciated than usual. Check in was very easy and straightforward. I was sent an email with an option to check in prior to my arrival and a digital room key. The one feature of this hotel that I found sets this hotel apart is that the Authorization hold is only $25!!! You heard me only $25!!! I had paid for the room in full a month in advance ($170 including tax) but was anticipating the authorization hold to be that plus whatever their incidental fee is as that’s what most hotels do. But when I checked my statement I saw only the $25 and thought “wow that’s amazing”. Most hotels I’ve visited the authorization hold is 100-250 and while it always falls off it’s just inconvenient especially when on a family vacay so this one being only $25 was such an added perk I was expecting! The room itself was in exceptional condition. I would imagine this place was recently built or just has a top notch cleaning crew. There was also an easy tech way to tip the cleaning staff by your phone! Everything looked brand new. No odd smells in the room. The full kitchen was also great. The shower and bathroom were spotless which is something I pay great attention to. Not sure if this is the case in all the rooms but our room was only a standing shower no tub so if you’re traveling with littles, like I was; the nighttime bathing routine may be a little different. The room itself was decorated in a modern minimalist theme; nodding to the history of the Kentucky derby with the artwork selected. There was a grocery store only 2 mins down the road so we cooked instead of eating out. The staff was very kind and willingly to answer any questions we had. I requested a late check out (12 pm) and they happily approved it. In addition to the free breakfast from 6am-9am, they also have on site laundry, fitness center and an outdoor pool. The free breakfast was great. Typical spread, eggs, potatoes, oatmeal, an array of cereals and baked goods, meat and a made to order waffle making station. The only reason I did not give a 5 star review is because on the website it says this hotel has both an indoor and outdoor pool so I brought all our swim stuff thinking we’d relax and hangout at the indoor pool after the theme park. Upon arrival I was told there isn’t an indoor pool at all and the outdoor pool wasn’t open for the season yet. I would suggest that the website be updated so guest know there isn’t an indoor pool after all. Overall though this was a wonderful experience and if I ever find myself in Louisville again I know exactly where...

As stated in previous reviews, the hotel is fairly new. Thus, everything still has a new feel. The room, specifically the bathroom design, is just okay. The way the shower/toilet is split from the sink makes the bathroom feel cramped. You will have to shimmy your way around the door to get to the toilet. It's very small. If you wake up early to go to the gym like I did. You risk waking everyone up when you use the sink since there is no door separating the sink and the beds.
The room is equipped with pots, pans, plates, and silverware, which makes preparing a simple meal in the microwave or on the cooktop easy. There is also a full fridge and a dishwasher for easy cleanup. If you're not into cooking, there is a shopping plaza about half a mile away.
The gym is really nice. It has everything to get you a good cardio or strength workout if you're into that during hotel stays. The only thing I'd like to see change is the Peloton bike pedals. The pedals have 'Look Delta' (3-hole) clips, which require specific cleat compatibility to use. The hotel can simply change the pedals by adding pedal cages. That way, anyone can use the exercise bike with their regular workout/tennis shoes.
A guest laundry, which takes coins, is available. However, it is small with 2 washers and 2 dryers and only 1 of each works properly.
Breakfast is satisfactory, especially the ability to make your own waffles. However, the bacon is always done overly dry. The kitchen staff is always professional and helpful.
Previous reviews also mentioned the planes since they are so close to the airport. Honestly, I was on the 5th floor and hardly noticed. If I was awake, I would hear the planes, but it wasn't something that jarred me out of my sleep.
The front desk staff were pleasant, too. Specific mention to the older male night-shift worker (I didn't get his name).
Overall, I really enjoyed...
