This store is horribleā don't shop here. I've been walking here to do my grocery shopping for over a decade. This store was very nice when I first moved to the area, but it has declined to the point where I often prefer to drive to a different Kroger instead dealing with the one across the street. I already stopped filling my prescriptions at the pharmacy years ago due to the poor service.
These days, it's always understaffed, and the store is often a mess. Not long ago, I could smell something rotting in the pet food aisle for almost two weeks. I don't have pets; I never even go into that aisle.
The recent remodel seems to have served no purpose other than making the store significantly more difficult to navigate. They've removed a major walk way that ran perpendicularly through the middle of the aisles, which means you end up having to do almost twice as much walking as you would have before to get the same groceries. They also removed their hand baskets a few years back. That means if you're making a quick trip you're either limited to what you can carry in your arms, or you have to push a full sized cart through the crowded, poorly laid out store. They do have a few mini-carts, but you have to be lucky to get one of those.
Now they've walled off the entire health/beauty department into it's own mini store with a dedicated checkout. Today I tried to buy a stick of deodorant along with my usual groceries. I was told that I had to pay for it there. I'm not going to stand in line and wait behind five people, and then be forced to talk to one of your disinterested employees for the privilege of buying a $1.95 stick of deodorant. Even more so when I can see an empty self-checkout (which I strongly prefer in the first place,) from their line.
This store has held on to my business for the past decade mostly due to the convenience. Apparently, convenience is no longer a service they offer. Go anywhere else to do your grocery shopping, it will almost...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have plenty to say...first on Friday i went to Kroger and ordered my granddaughters birthday cake and the guy told me i had to pay 24 hours in advance before they make it..come Tuesday came and i paid for it and came in Wednesday afternoon to pick it up and it wasnt made..the poor girl was so upset over it she was in tears over it...i grabbed her hands and had her breathe with me and capmed her down..the person who was supposed to make my cake and decorate it never did...was it this poor girls fault?? NO!! It was the person who didn't do the cake to begin with!! This poor girl was scrambling trying to make it right...i asked her if they had one frozen and she looked and yes they did..she was going to decorate the cake herself and she admitted she would try her best to make this cake the very best she could but she did call someone to come in asap to do the cake...she started and the girl came and started...the manager of the store told her to go ahead and give me my money back...i spoke with the young lady for awhile and she was very kind...this young lady DESERVES a raise and be recognized for running around the bakery trying to do what the person that was supposed to do it in the first place and THAT person needs to be fired!! With that said..ive read through some of the reviews about long lines and stuff not put up and so on so im going to address thier complaints...due to lack of people NOT wanting to work because they will work a day and whine because they had to actually work and quit Kroger is short handed just like everywhere else...so the ones complaining fill out a application and work there and fix what you believe that needs to be done...i commend the ones who actually gets out and works their butts off at any job they are doing because if it wasnt for them nothing would be getting done!! Again...thank you to the young lady that helped me and you need a raise...there should be more caring people out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEvery time I call with a question, they are rude and quick to hang up the phone, not even helpful just short and to the chase, without any apology at least for the unfortunate unavailability of particular service such as asking about sending or picking up money. Last time I called , in her tone of voice you can clearly tell this individual had an attitude for some reason and did not even ask if I had any follow-up questions or any other questions so after getting me an answer again short and quick to the chase, I went to politely a follow up question and she hung up right away in my face just mid conversation. So today I had a question because it was in regards to the same thing again, just to see if money services was open or operating so I can retrieve money. Again as usual I'm always dealing with someone who seems to have just such an unpleasant tone of voice and attitude and just not happy to be awake today. Again Short and simple to the chase, and I go to ask a question and they just hang up mid conversation in my face. I'm not actually sure who they have operating money services or whom operates certain days or hours of the day, but ... seriously? If the shoe was on the other foot; so don't do it to others , when you Probably hate it when another staff of some sort of role does that to you. I also never had an issue shopping at the store I've been shopping at the store for years since I moved into the area years ago because it's a lot closer and the most nicest Kroger's near instead of going to the Broadway one that I'm not much of a fan of. I understand the situation of being understaffed which I don't mind, I get it that you're not being paid that well and benefits are probably not that wonderful. But c'mon if you're not happy with the situation at hand and you're just going to be constantly rude to your customers just go find another job. So are you going to be a jerk to the...
