Iron Gate Inn Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Madison

Absolutely beautiful place!!! Well maintained, so clean, and beautifully decorated! We wanted a night away with friends and found Iron Gate by searching on the web. It looked wonderful on the website but it was even more stately when we pulled up in front. Even my husband commented on what an amazing find! Gordy and Maria warmly welcomed us at the door and we sat in the beautiful living room while they reviewed all the information that we needed. My husband and I stayed in the St. Charles room and, I feel it's one of the very best there! Although, all of the rooms are beautiful. Our friends stayed in the Secret Garden because they wanted a private area to sit in and read and drink coffee and it worked perfectly. The four of us had dinner at Red on Main (recommend) and then came back and sat on the side porch and played a game until late evening. Breakfast was absolutely delish!! Table was elegantly set and again, Gordy and Maria, were just such sweet hosts. We cannot say enough great things about this bed and breakfast! This B&B is a great place to stay while taking advantage of all the terrific things available in Madison, Indiana. You are within easy walking distance of a wide variety of shops, wineries, and good restaurants. You are minutes away from Clifty Falls which affords terrific scenery and some really great hiking. The best thing, however, is the hospitality at the Inn. Melodie is a great hostess who bends over backwards to be sure her guests enjoy their stay. Breakfast both days we were there was terrific. Prior to our stay, we had something come up which meant we meant we needed to move our date back a day. As there was still some availability, Melodie accommodated us without any issues whatsoever. We really appreciated the personalized service, and look forward to getting back there again soon. Then Iron Gate Inn was absolutely wonderful! A charming house with very spacious rooms. I couldn’t say enough GREAT things about the IGI. First of all, Melodie is such a delight. We were met with a warm, friendly smile and she was incredibly inviting. You can see the love for the place when she talks about the house. She works so hard to ensure your stay and the experience is perfect. Breakfast is another Incredible experience. She truly puts the effort and love into making breakfast delicious and a special experience. If you Google the street to see how far the shops are, it is very deceiving. We parked upon check-in and walked everywhere. We walked to the visitor center for some tours and when we mentioned we were staying at the IGI, the lady (another great experience) immediately noted how wonderful the place is and delicious breakfasts.
