I’ve been a wine drinker for years, although I only became serious about it in 2011 when a friend let me in on the secret that quality wine doesn’t have to cost a small fortune (Thanks, Jim!). I try to keep my money local, but that has been difficult where wine is concerned. So many vintners in Indiana make sweet wines for which I lack the palate. Then enters Thomas Family Winery. I visited Madison, IN last week. While there, I wanted to sample local wine, beer, and/or spirits. There are three wineries and a ‘brewstillery’ in Madison, but only one was open during my Sunday night through Wednesday morning stay. Lucky for me, Steve Thomas had his doors open and graciously welcomed me. He offered Hoosier hospitality, fun discussion, and delightfully dry, wonderful Indiana wines (there are sweeter selections for those who prefer them). In fact, I brought home a case! If you’re ever in Madison, I strongly recommend a visit to Thomas Family Winery. I’ll certainly be back and plan to try their rustic bread while there. Thank you, Steve!

Second, most reviews comment on the rudeness of the staff to which I also disagree with. I watched this man say everything to which i had read in the reviews... Let's just say his humor is as dry as the wine.
Over all, very nice family, very nice atmosphere, and an overall good time. Please check it out, but also understand it is a mostly...

Most of their wines are dry, but they gave very good recommendations, and if you go during the day, you can do tasting, but at night, you can't because they get very busy.
We listened to a band play and had a wonderful evening. I would highly encourage you to go!
All of the pictures on the wall are so cool and funky, and they have a lot of history from the area there in pictures and paintings and books. They even have games to play and cute little tables on nestled together inside and out very...
