A family run motel with good rooms and location right on Manitou Avenue. Decor may be a little dated, but the furnishings are of excellent quality and the rooms are well maintained and, very importantly, spacious and comfortable. Mattresses are like sleeping on clouds! Our twin queen room (117) had a full size wardrobe, desk, chest of draws and a bedside chest. We could easily have unpacked and stayed here for weeks! Plug sockets with USB points were thoughtfully provided too, making our stay every enjoyable (we're always arguing over sockets for charging gadgets!) The bathroom had a tub - much needed after a day exploring - and the room had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine. We didn't use these as we were happy to walk 10 minutes to the restaurants and cafes Downtown, but they would be handy for longer stays.||We only made breakfast (7.30 - 9.30) once, due to our early starts. Coffee and juice, cereal, yoghurt, bagels and toast were available, and the hard boiled eggs and cereal bars made a welcome change to standard breakfast fare.||We enjoyed our stay here and would happily...
Read moreMy husband and I had planned on staying here due to the good review but decided to splurge and get a jacuzzi suite at a motel down the street. My brother in law slept booked here for two nights to give us alone time. The two bed room was cheaper than the one bed room, so he obviously chose the cheaper option. There were no problems, other than the fact that the bathroom was odd, being split up, the room had not really been updated, and their "breakfast" was a joke. Their "continental breakfast" was literally prepackaged sweets, and not even the good kind. So after two night, we helped my brother in law check out, and he turned in the keys with no problem. As soon as we were about ten minutes away, he gets a phone call saying that because BOTH BEDS were unmade one night, that he would be charged EXTRA for having "an extra person and not paying for them before." He did not have an extra person in his room, firstly, but what if he slept in both beds?
I'm just really glad we did...
Read moreThe Eagle Motel was perfect for our 3 day visit to Manitou Springs. The room was huge, clean, had a comfy bed with excellent pillows (no achy neck in the morning), a couch, and a recently renovated bathroom. We also had a desk and chair, a TV, and a minifridge. The owner was super friendly and had good tips about the area. My husband and I enjoyed talking to him in the morning at the continental breakfast, which had great coffee and a mix of bagels, toast, yogurt, bananas, etc. The location cannot be beat as other have mentioned. Most of the time we walked straight into town. It was a pleasant 10 to 15-minute walk straight into the heart of Manitou Springs. You can also take either of the free shuttle buses which are nearby. We took the shuttle to Pike's Peak, which was super easy and convenient. It was also an 8 minute drive to Garden of the Gods. Location cannot be beat. I would recommend Eagle Motel to anyone headed to...
