The room is great. Good kitchenette with space, a dishwasher, and a countertop bar. Decent couch with fold-out, nice long desk, king-sized bed, and 360 degree mounted TV. The bathroom is about twice the size of regular hotel bathrooms. Shower has plenty of room and the water is hot and stays hot.
Service is rather average. I think it's more of getting accustomed to being newly opened. Housekeeping is great, breakfast is run of the mill. They conduct socials Monday-Wednesday that features free domestic beer and some food--buffalo chicken flatbread, cookies, chips and dip--which is a nice addition that you won't find at a Hampton Inn or Drury. They also have a bar that I frequented during my month long stay. Nothing on draft, a few domestics and imports, and a small assortment liquor.
Guest laundry was a bit of a disappointment and one of the reasons I won't give the hotel a 5 star. You have to pay to do laundry, which is alright, I supposed. I had just finished up a 30 day stint at the Staybridge down the street when I came over here where laundry was an included amenity. It's not that big of a deal, but if you plan on staying for the long haul there you may want to stock up on quarters as to wash and dry your clothes will cost you $1 in quarters and quarters only.
The last grievance I have is that, if you are there for a elongated amount of time, and bring any sort of entertainment that requires WiFi you're better off not utilizing it. I brought my PS4, laptop, and iPad Mini to entertain me and found that I couldn't play an online games on my PS4 or laptop--their latency is so high that lagging occurs throughout a match and downloading a game takes about as long as family Thanksgiving.
Granted, it's still good enough for you to surf the web, but with some delays, and their TV service comes with Netflix--fun fact, not all of their TV channels work for some reason, which didn't bother me so much as I had other forms of entertainment. Streaming Netflix wasn't a pain, but if you're the kind of customer who wants to play video games or do some downloading you'll find this WiFi a hindrance.
A big reason why their WiFi is not up to snuff is that there is a premium daily package for $4.95. I never bought any, but it's presence is most likely why their basic WiFi is sub-par. On top of that, if this doesn't frustrate you, you'll need to reconnect your internet devices everyday. My Playstation, iPad, laptop, and iPhone consistently needed to reconnect to the internet once a day. This is in spite of the statement made that my device would stay connected during my entire stay. Again, this is done so you see that $4.95 premium package.
WiFi and laundry aside, my stay was pleasant. If you are doing an extended stay for personal or business reasons, the spacious rooms and comfy beds will leave you pleased. If you plan on bringing a gaming console during your stay it's best to be prepared as their WiFi cannot handle gaming unless you spend $4.95 for a day's...
Read moreI have been very happy staying at this hotel until this last stay. On a Sunday, a note was posted on the outside of the hotel door stating that for the next two days from 8-5 a mandatory smoke alarm test would be performed, where people would be allowed to enter my room during this time. I do not want anyone entering my room without me being there. I have a dog that would be frightened and could bite if people he did not know entered the room without me being there. I talked with John the head maintenance man, he could not give me a more specific time, but he agreed to call me when they were 1/2 an hour from going in my room. This was better, but still very inconvenient and a hassle. I had left a message for Scott, the hotel manager. He called me back the next day. He was abrasive and gaslight me asking me if a didn’t want them to do s safety check. I told him, no that wasn’t it, just that I felt the check could have been done in a better way. If he had shown the least amount of understanding, I would have been satisfied. Because of someone coming into my room, without my consent, not knowing when, and because of Scott’s rudeness, I cut my stay by two days and will not stay there again. Not unless Scott is no longer there.
**After reading the response to my review from the hotel manager, I am sad. I wish the conversation was recorded. I am proud of the way I talked with Scott on the telephone. I was calm, not aggressive, and I never use bad language, ever! I stated my concern and I can remember all that was said to me. I feel sorry for Scott. He lied, and this behavior will come back and hurt him. *After this manager was no longer there, I went back and stayed there. It was a very good experience. The staff were helpful and friendly. This past time, I was told when I arrived that my room was not ready. After asking for the manager, he found me a room. During my stay I was not able to park near my room. There were a lot of large vans taking up the closest parking spaces. The breakfast area was packed, even though I got there as soon as I was told it would open. There weren’t any eggs left. I think the hotel had more guests than they could handle. Every time I went by the front desk, there was the same staff member without any help. If I stay there again, I will first check to see if the...
Read moreWhen I first made a reservation here I made a reservation for three months. I booked a king suite with a full kitchen and the day I checked in my room was not available. They put me in a standard room then the next day they move me to a handicap room And then the next day they move me to the room I should’ve been in originally. Then the room that they moved me to the bed was right up against a wall that went to a hallway. This hallway serviced the Fairfield in the hotel as well as exited out of the residence inn hotel into a shared stairwell. The doorway leading into the stairwell clothes so hard it would literally shake the wall to my bedroom. I was getting woken up 10 to 20 times a night. When I communicated to the hotel staff about this issue they did nothing to rectify it. I’m here for work and I work 6 to 7 days a week. Sunday was my first day off in like 11 days. I stayed up late tonight before I was looking forward to sleeping in I do be woken up at 9 AM from the phone ringing. I went down later to find out who was call my room as I didn’t answer the call. Found out it was some one from the front desk. I explain to her that was completely inappropriate behind somebody’s room at 9 o’clock in the morning she said her intent was not to wake me up. I said if your intent wasn’t a wake me up why were you calling at 9 o’clock in the morning. I said there’s no reason the hotel should be calling it’s guests at 9 o’clock in the morning. I tried to speak to the general manager several times and would never get a callback. Then the assistant manager accused me of being rude to the front desk clerk who woke me up. Then they told me I should find somewhere else to stay. Wow what a horrible service. Marriott should take away this franchisees franchise. This is not Marriott standards in...
