St. Louis Bread Co. — Restaurant in Maryland Heights

This review refers to the: Paneras/Saint Louis Bread Company at: 15 Progress Pkwy, Maryland Heights, MO 63043 (August 29, 2023)

This is one of my favorite Paneras/St. Louis Bread Company locations. I live down the street from a Paneras, but go to this location very often. It has one of the BEST environments inside. It looks very upscale and classy. It's like eating inside of a rich neighborhood. This place is also well-kept in such manner too. And the food is some of the best made (maybe the environment helps me think this too). This environment with its atmosphere could even be a location to MAYBE take a date.

The wi-fi here works 90% of the time which means MOST of the time. But, there can be some days where it blatantly doesn't work.

The only other problem with this location (and this is NOT Panera/ St. Louis Bread Company's fault), but all of that never-ending construction going on in the surrounding area makes this location a pain to get to. And it seems that the construction crew is taking too long to finish what they're doing or don't care; meanwhile hindering surrounding businesses in the process and this shouldn't be. Are they breaking the law??? I don't know! But, Paneras could be losing a bit of money because of them. Customers that would have come to this Paneras/St. Louis Bread Company might not come because the roads and construction is sort of in the way.

I, Ms. Rosie Turner, stopped in to get dinner this Friday, 8/22/2025 evening here at your ST L Bread Co, Westport Plaza Location. I won't come back to this location. And I love Panera Bread Co food. But not this one. Employees, even manager wasn't polite. No one smiling. I felt like I was at a funeral. Visitarion of someone who has died. I ordered a whole grill chicken Ceasars salad. I asked for a cup to get ice for my ice mountains Spring bottle water. She gave me this little plastic cup. Kind I use to rinse my mouth after brushing my teeth. The salad 🥗 lettuce wasn't fresh. Some pieces were covered up with fresh romaine lettuce. I start to take a pic, but I just decided I, Rosie won't ever eat here. When you had the shop in West Port Plaza I loved it. Everyone working here around 7pm tonight needs an attitude adjustment. I'm still picking thru my chicken salad. I'll not come here again. I tell my numerous friends about my experienced. I'm getting ready to leave. By the way, there weren't many customers in here but it took them 20 minutes to make this difficult to eat meal. I don't mine spending the money for your expensive food, but I demanded respect and tasty, fresh food. I have been eating at ST Louis Bread 🍞 Co for over 20 yrs. I never had this problem at St. Charles Rd Road, Creve Coeur, St. Charles, MO, etc Jesus Christ wouldn't have been happy. I will pray for this West Port location....

Born and raised in Creve Coeur, MO..home to Panera, this updated new Location at Westport in St Louis is a great new Restaurant, and a new Manager, Melissa Taylor, is a very Nice, and A Hard WORKING Lady, who COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDS CUSTOMER SERVICE, IN THE TOUGH RESTAURANT BUSINESS ( FORMER OWNER - BLUE MESA, ST PETERS MO, 1995) Melissa competence is OBVIOUS, and she is such a sweetie too!! and her workers love her too, and are Kind too, especially Valerie, working the Register! I highly recommend going to this Panera Location! Clean and great service!!

UPDATE: 10/27/19 I also, visited my favorite St Louis Bread Company (Panera Bread) Location last week too, and met the District/Area Manager/Partner for Panera, ( Brian - His Resaurant) and a Sr VP/Partner, who oversees a lot of Panera Restaurants west of St Louis. These 2 Men, were extremely Personable and Friendly. Obviously, since this is a Relocated Panera Restaurant within walking distance of the previous location in Westport ( one of the Original St Louis Bread Company Restaurants) Brian is also a Hard Working - Hands On Area Manager who cares about this Restaurant and his numerous employees. Panera (St Louis Bread Company) is blessed to have Upper Management that cares deeply about its Company and its workers, and it is not a surprise, that in Panera's home town, these Restaurants are always serving Delicious Food with...
