Clarion Pointe Mattoon near University — Hotel in Mattoon

The BEST hotel in town ! I know cos I have stayed at all of them in town before, including new Hampton Inn down the street. Everything renovated from top to bottom, clean room, greeted with nice smile, friendly staffs. Some reviews here mentioned of small breakfast offerings but hotel provides Waffle maker, coffee, juice, fruit, yogurt, no hot breakfast. But for the price, not sure what people expect. You can pay $200 a night at Hampton and you have to pay $10 for breakfast, its not much better there than here either. Comfortable bed, nice huge bathtub, you will not regret staying here ! We were very impressed from the moment we checked in. We were greeted by Christy, who was working the front desk when we arrived. She was super positive and friendly and just a pleasure to talk with. The room was probably one of the best I have ever stayed in. Very clean, and the beds were awesome. Another thing that stuck out to me was that all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Brandy and Kristy are amazing. I travel constantly for work and have some medical issues so can be a bit needy, and they are so accommodating and sweet.

Aside from this the rooms at this place are pristine and the location is incredible with tons of restaurants and stores around.

And at the price point they offer the rooms, it’s really wonderful as they don’t charge an arm and a leg like some other hotels. The owners are great for this.
