Kīhei Bay Surf — Local services in Maui

I would give this place 5 stars as it was a great community, location, and exceeded our expectations for part of our stay on Maui. However, there is a psycho security guard on the loose at this property. He scared my fiancée and me half to death when he hid behind a wall and chased us through the dim, dark tennis court as we left the pool one night.

We genuinely thought he was a predator as he was in plain clothes and we had never seen him before (we stayed there 9-10 days).

He apparently mistakenly thought we were “trespassing” but didn’t admit this. We found this out later. He made up some excuse about wanting to warn us about “centipedes hurting our feet” because we “didn’t have shoes on” (we both had shoes on).

I truly hope the higher ups at this place get him off the property because he is a threat to the safety and experience of this community.

He didn’t even apologize or man up and admit his wrongs. He blamed us for running away after we had a fight or flight response to being surprise attacked, yelled at, and chased all the way to our door. Super scary experience.

Still baffled at how we were profiled for being trespassers. He made a weird comment about “feeling like a pedophile”.

Great place to stay as long as this man isn’t watching you...

Me and my friend stayed in a one bedroom hotel room at first it was good the pool is nice the hot tub is nice the overall vibes of the place were cute and homey, our sheets were not clean they felt griddy, we found 4 alive baby cockroaches in the kitchen that I killed but we weren’t supplied with enough roach killer so the less then half spray bottle ran out and after calling to ask for roach traps and clean sheets they asked to come into our room while we were sleeping.. like that’s crazy and weird of them to even ask. And then said they couldn’t bring anything for us until the next day.. so we were forced to sleep on nasty sheets and live with baby roaches with no roach killer a whole nother day.. they barely gave us enough paper towels and cleaning supplies to clean up the room. And said “we don’t supply more then what’s givin” we paid over 1,000 dollars to stay at this place for 1 week so that feels cheep and wrong of them to barely provide BARE MINIMUM.. honestly it’s discussing. When we got a call at the end of our stay to see how our stay was and after we told the lady everything she just said “oh ok i’ll put it in my notes” didn’t offer any other solutions, so ya pretty frustrated our stay wasn’t even close to worth 1000 dollars. This condo (#257) provided us with all the amenities required for the 9 nights we stayed. The location is great with ample parking space and grocery stores 5-10 mins drive away.The condo had all the basic kitchen supplies (except a broken corkscrew). Basic condiments were left by previous guests and that was great! One of the issues was bugs in the kitchen dispte not leaving dirty dishes out and even after scrubbing the counter top with soap. A little upset at their amenity package which only provided us with one garbage bag and couple of half used toilet paper rolls for the whole stay. The mattress is in a serious need of upgrading as it was sagging to one side and would constantly slide off the boxspring. There was plenty of towels provided, but found some were not laundered properly. Beach gear including snorkels, pool noodles, boogie boards, water shoes, and beach chairs were provided, but there was one beach chair that was just a frame and a "seat" that rested on the sand.
