Extremely unhappy|I had a reservation at the Best Western Plus in McKinney Texas for the night of May 3rd 2025.|We were running late so I telephoned the hotel at 8:30pm on the 3rd to explain that we wouldn’t be there until just after 9:30pm and was told that was no problem. We arrived at the hotel at 9:45pm, and as my wife has great difficulty walking, I dropped my wife off at the reception then parked and carried our cases into where she was sitting.|When I went to check in, I was told that the elevator was not working and that unfortunately our room was on the 3rd floor. I explained that my wife has difficultly walking and that she couldn’t get up the stairs to the 3rd floor and was informed that we could cancel our room. Put yourself in our position, we were both tired, it was 9:45pm on a Saturday night and we didn’t want to have to then try to find another hotel room and take all our luggage back to the car. We reluctantly said that we could take it and could someone help us get our luggage up the stairs. With a smile, the girl on reception said that there was nobody to help, the stairs were along at the end of the corridor, but at least our room was near the stairs on the 3rd floor.|My wife struggled to make it to the stairs at the end of the corridor and I had to make 2 trips just to get my luggage upstairs before helping my wife up to the 3rd floor, by which time she was crying in pain from climbing the stairs which took us over 15 minutes.|At 2:30am, my wife was in so much pain and that she needed to go to an ER, so we struggled to get our luggage and ourselves downstairs, checked out and into the car.|Needless to say that I am disgusted with our treatment, especially when I found out by another guest at the hotel that the elevator had been out of operational for 3 days! That would have been plenty of time for the hotel to alert incoming guests to the issue, plus when I called to say that we would be late arriving, they could have easily told me then that the elevator was not working, giving me a chance to find...
Read morestayed here from 04/19/2022 to 04/21/2022 for a police training in the city. On 04/20/2022 I woke up and I had bites on my right arm near my elbow and on the lower portion of my right leg. I haven't ever had bed bugs or bed bug bites so I wasn't aware of what they were Fast forward to the night of 04/30/2022, while I was asleep in my bed, I noticed something crawling on me and biting me on my back. I woke up and saw a "roach looking bug" and googled "bed bugs" to look at pictures. The bug in my bed matched the bug in the picture. My fiancé and I inspected our bed (I wash our sheets once a week and we are very clean people). We saw about 4 larger bed bugs and several small ones. Due to the small amount of bed bugs, it makes sense that they just got here and there wasn't an infestation or pre existing bed bug issue at our home. I contacted an exterminator and plan to speak with the hotel management about the incident and covering the cost for us to get our house fumigated. I definitely would not recommend this hotel. It's dirty, I got bed bugs, staff is rude. Just don't waste your time.
Came here for a 1 (one) night stay on business. There was a young lady at the counter who’s name I can’t remember but she had large round glasses and greasy hair sort of resembling sadness from inside out, she notified me that the system was down and I would need to book the room online since she could not do so on the computer. I did and after I did she asked me to fill out a paper form with all of my card information that she left on the front desk counter unsupervised where anyone could see as i could make out the information left behind by visitors before me, I advised her to flip it over as that could have ramifications if it were to get in the wrong hands and she did. After checking out the following morning I checked my account to see that there were 2 (two) separate charges on my card for the same amount, one from the time i arrived (and checked in online) and one from about an hour later. I came back to the BW to ask if there were supposed to be multiple holds on my card and the young lady attendant (different from sadness) didn’t have an answer. She grabbed who I believe to be her manager and he explained that there were not in fact supposed to be two holds on my card and he wasn’t sure why there were. “Maybe your bank will give it back to you in one business day” just doesn’t feel like the appropriate answer to something that shouldn’t have happened.
