I love thrift shopping, so I was very excited to check out this store when I moved to the area. If you want the short summary, this is the worst thrifting experience I have ever had.
If you want the explanation of why I'd make such a bold claim, here you go.
This was the dirtiest and most disorganized thrift store I have ever been to. There was excessive amounts of dirt in several items I picked up.
The prices were a little steep for a thrift store.
I didn't really like how they staple the tags on the clothes, potentially messing up the fabric.
I have never seen staff treat customers as terribly as I saw at checkout. Quite literally yelling and throwing items around. With my experience working for the world's largest retailer in the past, I know there are several ways to get through a rush without treating people the way the staff did there. The cashier had the audacity to try and rush me by saying, "People are waiting." After I had already waited in line myself, and being 9 months pregnant of course I wasn't running to the counter and going as fast as she would've wanted me to, she would have been a little slow as well if she was 9 months pregnant.
My mother found a basket that she loved, but because it didn't have a tag, it was ripped out of her hands and tossed aside. At other stores, they just figure out a price instead of taking it away from the customer.
I really wish these events hadn't taken place. I was really hoping to be a regular customer there. How...
Read moreI need to re-comment on this store. The prices here use to be good but lately, they are very steep. I never go into a thrift store thinking "I'd definitely pay $15 for this dress from Forever21" but here we are, alas. I only come here now for the housewares. The shoes are always worn and over priced. This is not a storage business, this is a thrift store so I feel like they should be priced to sell, not sit.
DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THE STAPLES. I have sliced my fingers more than once and not just that - it damages the item I just purchased! Blows my mind how they don't use a tag gun. It would seem much faster.
If something does not have a price tag - don't even bother bringing it to the front. They won't even make up a price and sell it to you to get it out of there.
I wish management would listen to these complaints. There are so many things that don't sell for the longest time and it would be cheaper to run a storage unit than a thrift store if you plan to just keep things around. You waste time trying to stick it to resellers, just like every other thrift store lately, and you need to be focusing on the quality of your...
Read moreThe store itself is fine. It's overpriced for what it is, and the layout and lighting are bad, but it's a thrift store. What can you do?
The main point I want to address and what made me write this review was the treatment I saw an employee receive from the manager.
There was a small issue regarding a missing tag, and the manager - a large, blond woman named Angela - blew it so out of proportion I thought it was a joke at first.
Her unprofessional behavior and abusive tone and language, not to mention the volume, towards the employee and in front of customers was strange and out of place in a retail environment.
It made customers uncomfortable and was an ugly and inappropriate outburst lasting several minutes. The language Angela used towards the employee was unacceptable in any setting, much less a business, and it was unsettling to watch.
There are thrift stores with better prices and atmosphere, and no incidents like the one that occurred, and shoppers would be better off...
