This place is truly a diamond in the rough. When you walk inside the store, you feel like you've been transported to a high end shopping center. I was originally sceptical about the prices, thinking I would pay more to buy from a small store, but I've done head-to-head comparisons with one of the discount big box liquor/wine stores and McKinney Wine Merchant came out on top in each instance. Excellent. We drive almost an hour to go here on special occasion. Recommended by a co-worker with a sizable wine collection. Their selection isn't vast, but it's curated, and extremely varied in region and price. We bought a bottle for my brother, who likes Spanish wines, and it turned out to be a bottle he drank on his honeymoon with the owner of the vineyard. That's the quality of selection you're getting.
